You suggest that the “overreaction” was mostly the problem. My point is that the overreaction was completely deliberate, and that the lie was and is the problem. To say that the overreaction was mostly the problem, is to accept that the tyrants were acting in good faith, but were simply misled. That is wrong, and everything that has happened over the past two years proves it beyond any doubt.
