Hacking collective Anonymous declares 'cyber war' against Putin

Hacking group Anonymous has declared 'cyber war' against Vladimir Putin's government after he mounted a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The elusive computer experts issued the stark announcement on their Twitter account on Thursday evening.

They said shortly before 10pm: 'The Anonymous collective is officially in cyber war against the Russian government.'

Around 30 minutes later, they announced that they had taken down the website of the Kremlin-backed TV channel RT, which broadcasts in Britain and has been heavily criticised for its coverage.

When MailOnline attempted to access the site this morning, it was still inaccessible and only displayed an error message that said 'this site can't be reached'.

The cyber war declaration raises the prospect that Russia could be subjected to systematic hacking attempts in the coming days.

People on social media responded positively to Anonymous's cyber war declaration against Putin.

I’d rather that nobody censored the news. From any source.

If it’s all slanted garbage, let’s see it for what it is. We’re not children.

Why do that when Russia is taking out the trash? They’re going after US bio-labs and hopefully cleaning out the corruption after.

I sense a group that is not relevant seeking publicity

A CIA front group is supporting Biden’s attempt to start another forever-war.

That was my thought. Someone mentioned the DOJ, but if DOJ had a hand, it was seemingly employing a CIA asset

However, and here’s an important thought. We hear constantly about cyber intrusion by foreign powers but never any thing about what is certainly 365 24/7 cyber action by who knows what American entities.

I’m guessing the CIA’s MO here was to publicly threaten the Ruskies with cyber attacks so when they do their false-flag cyber takedown of us here they can claim it was the Russians.

It’s amazing how often the interests of the CIA and the stated missions of Anonymous coincide. Why, it’s almost as if ... nah.

DING DING DING we have a winner.

Ya nothing strange at all that an “anonymous” supposedly anarchist anti government group somehow often aligns with the governments most secret letter agencies mission objective.

Nope nothing to see there.

Putin is shaking in his boots./s. He is going to rebuild the old Soviet Union by force starting with non-NATO countries. How do you stop a nuke capable aggressor country? You can’t. The last thing anyone wants is someone launching 2,000 warheads and expecting that in return.
