Russia, as one of the great world powers on the winning side of WWII, is a permanent member of the Security Council with a veto-vote.... Russian President Vladimir Putin, the KGB officer-turned-thug dictator, may be assassinating private citizens on foreign soil, and the Chinese Communist Party may be attempting to eradicate a minority ethnicity and culture within its own borders, but each gets a final say on this matter.
Aside from the joke of the Security Council, the U.N. Human Rights Council is filled with despicable regimes that relish abusing human rights, including China, Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela. The U.N. high commissioner for human rights is more concerned about American police in Portland than China’s genocide against the Uyghurs.

The UN is where the “foreign aid” deals are made and the bureaucrats make their millions.
Trump could have ended the UN.
I spent a number of years saying pretty much the same thing.
Once we boot the UN and drop out, our veto is gone. The world would not be a better place at that point.
One would have to be blind deaf and dumb to think we’re a whole lot better off at this point. Still, it might be considerably worse if China and Russia had no antagonist inside the UN.
The building is in great disrepair so it would have made a nice "flip" too.
The UN is the wannabe “World Government”, and as such goes against nearly everything our Founders warned us about.
Not only do we need to get out of the UN, we need to demand it he disbanded and removed from our shores. Let China have it, without the US.
The Fourth Turning is supposed to be about institutions getting replaced (not always rebuilt) every 80 years or so. The UN/UNsC, the American Empire and the move toward a hegemonic Europe (EU) have all reached their shelf expiration date. Looks like a Fourth Turning to me but most of our NY/DC elites will need more wake-up calls.

UN has managed to keep the “peace” for 75 years. The League of Nations didn’t even manage to keep the peace for 20 years.
Nukes and mutual assured destruction kept the “peace” in spite of the UN (which W. correctly called a debating society).
