No, Nope, No: It Is Not Time for a Civil War: Everyone out there asking whether it's time to "use the guns" against the government needs a hard and fast answer in the negative
American Thinker ^ | 02/23/2022 | Jeremy Egerer

Posted on 02/23/2022 7:10:16 AM PST by SeekAndFind

Charlie Kirk was asked recently, at one of his lectures, whether now is a good time to "use the guns."  He answered that it isn't, and I agree with him but only partially for the reasons he stated.

Simply put, the idea that right-wingers could start a revolution and win one, at this point in history, is comedy — and no, I don't care if that's the sole reason we have a Second Amendment and we have more AR-15s.  First off, we don't own any of the institutions — including any branches of the military, which, although staffed with lots of great and respectable men, are currently run by woman-drafters, white-shamers, and tranny-loving butt-kissers

I would add to this that social and big media are owned almost entirely by the left wing, which means we have no platform to mass-communicate.  Do we run the CIA, or the FBI, or any national organization built to maintain law and order in a crisis?  No — all of it is in possession of the left wing, which gives leftists a clear advantage in organization and persecution.

More importantly, I would posit that these United States are so completely interdependent that any kind of real split, even without bloodshed, would result in mass starvation and eventually death.  This isn't the 1860s, when clothes could be homespun and farms were all family-owned.  There isn't a single business in these states that maintains its existence within a single state: everyone is dependent on other businesses in other states, and many times in other countries, to supply what he needs to function on even a basic level.

We still speak the same language, still pledge allegiance to the same flag, still sing the same national anthem.

Yes, I bring up the language part a lot. But that is a different issue. And regarding the anthem, that is just a part of the culture of putting the federation over your particular country. Before the civil war, people identified with their “state” more than with the US. It’s why they called it “these” united states rather than “the” united states.

I identify as a Kentuckian first, and a US citizen second. And there is now enough difference in the LAWS of the individual “states” that it is important to recognize that they are very different - similar language notwithstanding. Simple example: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/traveling-mans-gun-arrest-appealed-to-supreme-court

And gun laws are why I was not at the Jan 6th protest. I would never go to DC without being armed, but that would be illegal, so I’ll never go in DC. Same with Haiti and Turkey - And New Jersey.

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE.

No one ever seems to bring up that phrase.

Esp. In light of the thralldom to MLK and “black plight” in the past, if you will.

It’s not simply “protest”. It’s refusing to do what the leaders want to be done. Such as the vax.

I see the trucker stuff as largely CD as well as protest.

Human nature and history seem to indicate that fat, entertained and comfortable people don’t have civil wars. We are the fattest, most passively entertained and comfortable people to ever exist. Our poor people are the most likely to be obese.

I think the advent of the 24 hour news cycle and our screen culture are a big factor into all this civil war talk, as well as the general populace having absolutely no concept of what privations a civil war of some type would bring.

There is no Electoral College involved this November.

Libs can't just focus on key districts to inflict their fraud at a National level.

They'd have to execute it in far too many districts in which they have no such control.

The most effective weapons against tyranny are prayer and the ballot.

RE: The thesis the author puts out is that it is better to live in tyranny than fight because fighting would be hard.

Then gun owners better get organized as a militia. Individual gun owners are committing suicide if they think they can win against authorities with bigger and better guns.

The 2nd Amendment is way overrated. Nobody has the nads to invoke it. We were attacked by a biological weapon, had our election stolen, and have Marxist apparatchiks at all levels of govt. The country is now imploding.

And an argument could easily be made that the immigration and naturalization act of 1965 was when the guns should’ve first been introduced.

“Individual gun owners are committing suicide if they think they can win against authorities with bigger and better guns.”

30 millions individuals versus less than 2 million government, not to mention that government needs the people to supply and maintain them. Good luck with that.

I guess I should read the article, but let me ask this: WHEN is the time to use the aforementioned items in the way mentioned?

Texas could probably pull it off. Independent grid and access to the sea.

A nation divided will not stand.............it will be all one or all the other.

There are advantages to being a united states. Our founding fathers set up a good system. Let’s keep it together and fight for the system they set up.

Exactly.

The USA has been hijacked by corrupt politicians and DC bureaucrats. I don’t think staying united is possible anymore. If there is ever a convention of states, this should be on the agenda. We can at least attempt a peaceful separation.

Make your choice.

Can you show me in the US Constitution where state secession is prohibited?

It doesn't matter that the Constitution fails to explicitly prohibit state secession. Our esteemed Abraham Lincoln set the precedent for how the federal government in reality would deal with that. He prosecuted a total war that killed hundreds of thousands of Americans after some states attempted to secede. To "preserve the Union", regardless of the cost.

Today that reaction might involve the feds destroying whole towns and villages with massive weaponry that Lincoln and his generals could only have dreamed about back then. Secession is off the table, sorry to say.

That is undercover FBI Agents and their Informants that are saying “Use the guns” against the Government. Stay away from them.

/\

Exactly.

With DHS and doj foaming out the mouth looking for d.e. under every rock and memaw the fact that these posters are still pushing the same sedition affirms this.

So, it is:

A. Inconvenient
B. It would be hard
C. Someone could get hurt

OK then, never mind. Continue on the road of, not to, serfdom.

Did anyone follow the guy who asked the question out to his car and take down his license plate? Did anyone follow him home? If you see this as anything more than a set-up you're naive.

If I were Charlie Kirk I would have called this guy out on the spot.
