There’s over 324,000 truckers in Canada over 90% of those are already vaccinated. The vast majority kept right on driving and will keep driving to think that truckers in Canada are a monolithic bloc is foolish one look at social media where actual Canadians who are truckers have posted thousands of posts still doing their jobs and all their co-workers doing their jobs as well shows this to be true. A good portion of truckers in Canada are also people of noncanadian origins be them nationalized citizens or on visas those on visas would be deported nearly immediately if they refuse to do the job they were granted the visa to do. Canada actually enforcers its immigration laws deportations come quick. Even if the full 10% who are not vaccinated went on general strike thats only 35,000 or so they would need to convince half or so of the already vaccinated truckers to join in risking their insurance,bank accounts and licences as well. That’s a tall sell to people who already have the blessing of the government to jump sides and make enemies of the government for 10% who refused to take a shot those truckers already took. A full national shut down of supply movements would also trigger a national security response from the Canadian military for sure with almost assuredly help from the UN both of which the EA allows at the PMs request. The UN would send logistical support people to drive class 8 rigs. The US military lets 18yo with 200 hours of training drive hemetts which are larger than class 8s at 109,000lbs thats a NATO standard so any other NATO forces will have 88 Mikes with similar ratings by the tens of thousands. The reality is most of Canada’s truckers took the vaccines and keep on trucking a quick look at the logistical movement amounts over the three weeks of protest also show most truckers kept trucking.
