The White House said President Biden would soon issue an executive order that would ban new investment, trade and financing by US people and entities in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

“This EO [executive order] will also provide authority to impose sanctions on any person determined to operate in those areas of Ukraine,” said Jen Psaki, White House press secretary. “We will also soon announce additional measures related to today’s blatant violation of Russia’s international commitments.”

Psaki said the measures were separate from the economic sanctions the US has threatened to impose if Putin invades Ukraine. “We are continuing to closely consult with Allies and partners, including Ukraine, on next steps and on Russia’s ongoing escalation along the border with Ukraine.”

So Vlad Tepes Putin has basically annexed parts of Ukraine and now the puppet Biden is pretending to invoke punishment on Russia.

So this is the huge punishment that Biden was threatening Russia with? Yawn!

Does that include any business dealings of Hunter Biden?”

It will just clear the way for Hunter, no competition.

With an American-hating administration firmly planted in the White House, and with no one in the wings wanting to stop it, the beginning of woes and tribulations for this nation is now starting. What puzzles me is how the ones who could stop the Federal government from it illegal destruction of the nation refuse to step in because we are a “nation of laws” and it would be illegal to step in and save the nation.

Interesting. But who cut the deal? Putin, obviously. But was Zelensky in agreement? If so, what role would the Kiev government play? Would it have to ratify the agreement? So many questions.

“This was an internal succession movement.”

Who succeeded whom?

I don’t know how to feel. Some people in Eastern Ukraine genuinely want to be a part of Russia even if it means losing freedoms, decrease in living standards, etc…

But some people will feel forced to leave even if they’ve lived there for ages. Sad predicament.

Meaningless sanctions. They are not against Putin or Russia, but the two break-away territories.

“Oh, and lift all re4striction o importing Russian ammo. You know, the carrot part...”

I can do without Wolf ammo and Tula ammo. Crappy stuff. But, if you’re in a last stand situation, and that’s all you have, then...what the hell? Go for it!

Yup no real sanctions because enough people close to Biden and the Germans and the French need Russian business badly.

Weak feckless sanctions whole Biden and the German Chancellor sell out Ukraine behind closed doors to Putin. A face saving measure will happen allowing Biden to take credit, but Putin will be the winner. Also, Putin still has his invasion option. The sign that Putin is invading Ukraine is Zalenski being out of power (assassination, coup, abdication to exile). Putin gets a NATO alliance in disarray, promises that Ukraine will never join NATO, 30,000 Russian troops in Ukraine, ability for Russian troops to transit Ukraine at will, and Party of Regions and the Communist of Ukraine allowed to run publicly. It probably also allows some control by FSB over the Ukrainian SBU.

BFW This also doesn’t bode well for Taiwan, which will face something similar by China this Spring.

I am also afraid of Joe and Kamala making things exponentially worse through their general incompetence.

So what are these sanctions?

Revoke Nord-Stream2? Nah

Stop buying that 26mil barrels of Russian oil per month? Nope

Realign US military assets? Not a chance! Can barely hold onto Turkey.

Prevent investment in that borsht factory on the eastern Ukraine border? Ya!! That’ll show ‘em

Yes and no about the Ukraine having its own language and customs. Both Russia and the Ukraine claim Kiev, now Kyiv, as the heartland of the slavic culture. The language differs slightly, but Russians and Ukrainians can understand each other. But the southern US and the western US have cultural and language differences. Our politicians refuse to recognize that Ukraine has been controlled by and part of Russia for over 300 years.

Question for Bidet: How are you not oppressing your citizens more than Putin oppresses his?

White Liberal 'Elites' on MSNBC talk about Putin the same way they talk about us. Same hatred. Same contrmpt. Same desire to crush Putin as to crush us. The exact same raw hatred.

Ukraine must be the ultimate cash cow - slush fund - for corrupt liberal 'elites'. They're willing to let American citizens die for their greed.

Anyone know if Hillary and Bill gave 'speeches' there?

The US gives Ukraine billions and our 'elites' go collect a share in the form of 'jobs for their loser drug-addicted whore-monger private school' brats? Or speakers fees? Or cash for 'consulting' services? Or maybe some quid pro quo for all the 'arms' we "give" them free of charge courtesy of the American taxpayers? I want OUR borders protected.
