France Braces For Blackouts As Gas Stockpiles Dwindle

Europe’s energy crisis has led to a shortage of natural gas supplies, and France could pay the price.

French natural gas pipeline operator GRTgaz warned that gas stockpiles are much lower at this point in the year than they have been during years past.

France's energy problems have been exacerbated by the lower-than-usual capacity at the country's nuclear power plants.

The Brits aren't the only European nation to find itself on the verge of a full-blown energy crisis... French natural gas pipeline operator GRTgaz warned that French gas stockpiles are much lower at this point in the year than they have been during years past - and as a result, they run the risk of potentially being depleted before the winter is up, a disaster that could make last year's deep freeze in Texas look tame if a sudden cold snap sends demand soaring.

...

We’ll probably be close to zero toward the end of March.. GRTgaz chief Thierry Trouve said

...

the most precarious for French gas inventories since they arrived at their lowest seasonal level since 2018. Inventories are now at the lowest seasonal level since 2018, when the country ended the heating season with storage at a record-low of just 3%.

...

France's energy problems have been exacerbated by the lower-than-usual capacity at the country's nuclear power plants, some of which have been closed

...

France's energy woes could create a serious political problem for President Emmanuel Macron ahead of elections in April. Energy inflation is already creating serious problems in the UK, and if renewable power generation lags

This is where Russia has the the power to blackmail the entire Eurasian continent. They arguably have the largest natural reserves on Earth, and could control Europe and even China over this (China is now hard-pressed to phase out their polluting coal-fired power plants, given the pulmonary damage to the population of China for decades of over-reliance on coal-fired power plants).

Ride bikes, hook up a pinwheel to a generator, pedal, charge the battery, and heat your homes with green energy. And, it’s healthy, too - a twofer!

It’s not a blackout. Call it by it’s real name: a disaster. People die without heat. All the advancements of civilization are lost when there is no heat.

Well ... the earth’s gravity is in play here. No clouds would spread the water from the sea to the air, to fall at higher elevations for hydro — IF NOT for the heating and cooling caused by the sun.

It all traces back to solar sources.

Where did the uranium come from ? I guess its been in the planet since earth was made. Did God use the sun to make the earth ?

I don’t have all the answers, but yes nuke makes the most sense, yet its the most plundered idea.

All I’ve been trying to say is that energy comes from a furnace. Over the centuries it has been stored in all sorts of forms. We as people don’t have to capture the ‘live’ sun’s energy in real-time to be green.

Even wind power comes from the weather and temperature changes, coming from the sun’s planet daytime warming and nighttime cooling.

“No energy ever came from anywhere other the our sun”

How about Geothermal?

Is Volcanic activity within the crust of the Earth a function of the Fusion reaction of the Sun?
I am asking, not lecturing.

Iceland runs their entire island off of the geothermal energy stored underneath their land mass. Now, they still have to import petroleum products for their automobiles. However, of anywhere in the world where electric cars make sense, it would be Iceland.

Does anyone else know do they produce electricity on the Big Island of Hawaii from Geothermal?

Let me correct myself before some other Freeper does:

“Five major geothermal power plants exist in Iceland, which produce approximately 26.2% (2010)[2] of the nation’s electricity. In addition, geothermal heating meets the heating and hot water requirements of approximately 87% of all buildings in Iceland. Apart from geothermal energy, 73.8% of the nation’s electricity is generated by hydro power,[2] and 0.1% from fossil fuels.”

So, Iceland’s electricity comes from hydroelectric and geothermal.

Macron just needs to get his population out near the windmills and have them blow toward the propellers.

Yep, they should go to those windmills and fart in their general direction. Talk about gas!

Cosmic rays striking the silicon in the earth's crust is what powers volcanic activity. The amount of cosmic ray intensity striking the earth is dependent on the strength of the sun's magnetic field. When the sun's magnetic field is strong, it shields the earth. Currently, the magnetic field is weak. The extra cosmic rays power up the silicon in the earth for the volcanic activity and nucleate more clouds. The net effect is more clouds from water, more particulates from volcanic activity and dropping temperatures on the earth's surface...the genesis of ice age periods.
