Announcing that “enforcement is underway,” Ottawa police tweeted just before 2 p.m. Sunday that anyone who attempts to bring “material” supports, including gas, to demonstrators could be subject to arrest.
When asked earlier about the possibility of cutting off the supply of gas, diesel and propane to protestors, Ottawa Police Service said that they do not speak about operations, “for officer safety reasons.”

I THINK what we are beginning to see is the GRAND CANYON divide, politically speaking, between the Hard Left Athiest/Marxist officials that occupy the bureauracy in Canada and RUN Canada and the broader population.
It looks to me like the Lefties are going to over-react and then they will spark a conflagration that they can’t possibly win. For just one point, Canada’s entire Army is only 23,000 people and no doubt many of them won’t fight their fellow countrymen. I know I wouldn’t.
Why aren’t there a few trucks full of supplies in all those protesters?
How about the "levels of government" that got everyone into this mess in the first place?
It is the Ottawa officials that should be face to face with JT telling him to end this NOW.
.
The same grounds the mayor of L.A. could use to have everyone on the 405, I5, I10 or 101 on any Friday at 5:30 PM arrested.
So, as I said - they have issued a regime challenge. The government may fall.
But it may not, and if it does not, all here cheering "Let's you and him fight" will share responsibility for the fate of these fine family men and their businesses.
All I said was, if you shoot at the king, you can't miss.
Look, I am sympathetic to a regime challenge.
But you people cheering them on don't have skin in the game.
They have created an interesting situation.
Western liberal democracies are not as secure or as stable as they pretend to be.
But don't kid yourself - the trucker protest has evolved into a regime challenge, the truckers have put themselves into a very dangerous situation, and I hope they have a plan for once force is deployed against them.
Leaving the large trucking companies with abundant trucks and few drivers.
Same net effect.
Show up EN MASSE. In the THOUSANDS. They cannot arrest everyone.
Overwhelming force and overwhelming support wins the day!
Trucks run out of gas , the drivers leave them and get hotel room. They are not getting towed. Nothing changes.
I happen to agree with you. Cut off ALL supplies from these big urban areas, in Canada AND the US and watch how fast these mandates get removed.
‘The truckers will bear the blame when things get tight because they refuse to deliver goods, not the government
‘fraid so...
Won’t work.
Every city dweller knows food comes from the grocery store, gasoline for the filling station, and electricity from the outlet.
Who needs trucks?
Let the stupid bastards starve.
Spot on.
Taxation without representation wasn’t legal and neither was forming a consensus and declaring independence from Britain.
But our founding fathers did it (the latter) anyway.
Lol, I thought the same thing a few days ago and I posted it on Twitter.

Is that a law. Transporting gas in gas cans no longer permitted.??
Does Canada allow arrests when no law has been broken?
Like the US did on January 6?

You’re right, and I’m afraid that they don’t. The government already knows who they are. They could get the 1/6 treatment. The government could permanently revoke their licenses by charging them with disqualifying crimes. Their machines could be confiscated. The gov’t could greenlight their individual financial destruction by lawsuit. That city’s police could decide they’re too busy to interfere when the communists send their Antifa thugs against them. And right now every day they’re not hauling freight they’re bleeding out truck payments and insurance costs.
It’s a precarious position. The next level would be a truckers’ strike. Beyond that a general strike. Would enough of the population be willing to get their hands dirty to support them?
Tow companies have been requested to start towing the trucks. They replied that they couldn’t do that, they all have covid. Your not going to get enough scabs to do it, even if they commandeer the tow trucks. It takes skill to tow a big rig safely
*** The truckers will bear the blame when things get tight because they refuse to deliver goods, not the government. ***
I agree. I know people here in the US whose attitude regarding disruption of the supply chain by truckers opposed to the mandates as “how dare they?”
