Lot of good insights folks, thanks! Here’s another:

“I know people who worked hard-—never had ANY of the ‘education’ she had & are millionaires today....

BUT they worked very hard & actually PRODUCED something besides HOT AIR.”
________________________________________________________
Precisely, and I recommend two old books to everyone, one is the very old “Think And Grow Rich” (it’s not just about money) and the other is “The Millionaire Next Door”, about the quiet millionaires living all around you in middle class areas and how they became financially independent.

Rich Capitalist says Capitalism not working. Her $174,000 salary comes via Capitalism, as did the establishment school she attended and the country she works to ruin.
Her $174,000 is a very healthy paycheck for anybody in America, not to mention for a 32-year old. Her student loan debt [$19,000] is high because she attended Boston University, one of the most expensive private schools in the country that has a 2021 tuition of over $53,000. It’s kind of strange going to such a school given she’s a Democratic Socialist.

If,

Ocasio-Cortez can continuously save roughly $7,400 a month in after-tax income as long as she keeps her spending at $4,200 a month and stays on as a Congresswomen. After one year, Ocasio-Cortez will have boosted her net worth by $88,800 through savings alone. Add on a 5% rate of return if she invests in stocks or real estate plus her existing $7,000 in savings, and Ocasio-Cortez should have a net worth of roughly $100,000 at the beginning of 2021. - https://www.financialsamurai.com/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-net-worth-is-higher-than-you-think/

ism
ĭz′əm
noun

A distinctive doctrine, system, or theory.

A doctrine, theory, system, or practice having a distinctive character or relation: chiefly used in disparagement: as, this is the age of isms; to set up an ism.

A suffix implying the practice, system, doctrine, theory, principle, or abstract idea of that which is signified or implied by the word to which it is subjoined: as, dogmatism, spiritualism, socialism, Atticism, Americanism, Gallicism, terrorism, vandalism, republicanism, Mormonism, being especially common in nouns so formed from names of persons and designating theories, as Benthamism, Comtism, Darwinism, etc., or theories associated with practice, especially in words of temporary use, as Cæsarism, Jacksonism, Grantism, etc., such temporary words being formed as occasion requires, in unlimited numbers.

Such words are usually accompanied by a noun of the agent in -ist, and an adj. in -istic, and often by a verb in -ize. See these suffixes.

lots of isms these days. Don’t think I have ever heard of libertyism.

What is the difference between an ism and a philosophy?

Personally, i don’t like the term conservatism.

It is more a way of thinking, a philosophy as described here:

AOC has confused childish ‘intentions’ with truthful ugly realities.

Marx had great intentions - much like parents who want to ‘give their children everything’ but wind up creating brats from hell - so Marx’s ‘intentions’ create hellish nightmare cultures. Intentions are NOT the standard for judging cultures.

Communism sells well because we would many people would live to live in the protected world of childhood - where loving parents ask from us according to our ability - and love us all equally.

The problem is ‘the State’ is NEVER ‘loving parents’...

What Communism really creates is what we see - the common denominators of communism:

1. kill zones, iron curtains, barbed wire and armed guards to keep citizens from escaping.
2. Political prisoners, secret police, midnight ‘knocks’... and people disappearing.
3, Bleak systemic poverty and starvation used as a tactic.

If AOL can Bernie would like to point out a commie culture that doesn’t have the above three attributes - we’ll listen. Oh, and Sweden has stated repeatedly they are NOT a socialist country

These commies think they can take the work that forms capital and use that for their programs. Lots of examples around the world of countries without capital formation.

Ninety percent of Americans make at or ABOVE the average wage of the world. Pretty good if you ask me.

Am waiting for the day she ends up in the trunk of some car.

In another time, the mob would have taken care of that problem.

They did not like anyone drawing attention to the criminal activities of the crews.

Looks as if the new mob. the new national socialist democrat party of America, is not as nasty as they claim to be.

“Capitalism is not a redeemable system for us.” AOC says, “Capitalism does not benefit the vast majority of Americans and is a system run by a wealthy minority most of whom are my fellow liberals.” She added, “We need to institute a new system which will benefit the vast majority of Americans.”

“This new system”, she continued, “will be called by some ‘communism’, but whatever they call it, we will do it right and not make the mistakes of past attempts. It will be run by our new configuration of woke wealthy liberals (such as myself) for our ultimate pleasure and benefits - you are going to love it, but if you don’t we have ways to change that.”

--- "Don't think I have ever heard of libertyism."

Your point is very, very well taken.

In debating one European socialist when I lived in Germany, I asked where the theory of capital and "capitalism" is most cited. Like a decent attorney, I knew the answer. Das Kapital.

Standing somewhat in opposition to the silly theories of the anti-capitalists is Adam Smith, who wrote about the "Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations."

It was and remains important to me as I talk/write with others to cite -- with sources -- the anti-capitalism of the Chinese Communists. the Soviet Socialists, the National Socialists, the Italian Fascists and beyond. Certainly the anti-capitalism sentiments raging in the dictatorial American Left align with all the above in a variety of ways.

(Among other warnings from Smith was the warning against spiraling debt, which this era's $30 trillion surely represents.)

A dear German friend asked various questions of me, as if I were a good representation of an "American." I apparently am not, for so often I began my answers with the foundation of liberty. Not very American compared to so many in Congress, eh?

I am borrowing your coined "libertyism." It seems nicely to wed "principles" to theory. And one looks back at Smith to think of his first venture, the Theory of Moral Sentiments.

To live under the "boot" of another is immoral. To live among those who hold to liberty is moral for all. Libertyism seems such a fine term.

Best wishes.

Interesting that there is a site called libertyism.org.

so it is registered but appears to be a dead site.

Interesting.

Somewhere in Texas.

As before, I am stealing -- with credit -- your coined word, as yours is the first I'd come across it. Best wishes.
