Column: Extremists are set to take over this California county. Will more of the state be next?

When conservatives fight one another over God and country, my general reaction is — have at it, and where’s the popcorn?
But the recent recall election in Shasta County that pitted a Republican ex-police chief against a far-right faction backed by a local militia is different. It’s a wake-up call ahead of the 2022 midterms that elections can go very wrong, even in liberal California.
What happened in Redding should be a big, blinking warning light to what’s left of the mainstream Republican Party, and to us all that we have an obligation as Californians to protect elections across the state, not just the ones in our backyard.

As I've hoped for for a long time conservatives are taking back local elections. It is the only way America survives.

The only way America survives is if we stop re-electing Assistant Democrats, aka Bush League Republicans.

Sounds like a RINO vs a bunch of constitution loving patriots to me.

“elections can go very wrong, even in liberal California.”
OMG what a stench from the bias. If someone “right-wing” wins an election, it must be “very wrong”. But Democrats think Republicans are a threat to democracy???

In other words. If you don’t agree with us you have no right to be in charge. Typical leftist intolerance.

There are lots of conservative council members voting for the liberal policies as they sit on regional boards and commissions. They grumble, tell their supporters they are against it but vote yes, afraid to rock the boat.
To: devane617
Everything he stated is exactly how the leftists took over (except for the education part) to begin with. Terrified their own tactics are being used against them. Next step? Disparage the citizens, swear they are using nazi tactics, will stop 'fair' elections, etc, etc etc.
Amazing

...elections can go very wrong, even in liberal California.
IOW, in liberal, aka: communist California, nobody is supposed to win elections, other than liberals... err... Communists.
It's like freedom loving people suddenly winning elections in Russia or in Venezuela or Cuba or N. Korea; totally unexpected and the communists left wondering how it could have happened; something went very wrong along the way.

“...we have an obligation as Californians to protect elections...”
Is the writer saying the Shasta County elections were somehow stolen, or rather claiming the ‘wrong’ candidates got the most votes?

The LA Times has its panties in a wad because conservatives are VOTING (horrors!!!) and winning elections!!! How dare they!!! And they accepted outside money that wasn’t from Soros or some other left-wing group!!! Horrors!!!

Note how the weirdo in LA, 600 miles South of Redding, thinks that he’s in charge of the people there.
The entire area North of the I-5 / I-80 intersection is totally different to the nauseating third world favella known as Los Angeles. Their votes should mean nothing to the still mostly rural, agricutural city of Redding and the even older timber town of Mt. Shasta.

The only way America survives is to vote out RINOs at every level of local and federal government.
The first big test is coming with this year's primaries. I don't see anyone who voted for Trump in 2020 voting for a RINO-traitor. Looking for a RINO purge.

Had to actually click to find out the name of the author.
And local elections are merely overlooked by the CA fraud machine. For now.

The author is saying that elections must be rigged so that people he doesn’t like don’t win.
