'The politicians ain't doing nothing'; many Portland businesses frustrated with conditions

PORTLAND, Ore. — A new poll shared by the Portland Business Alliance says the vast majority of people polled in the Metro area believe Portland's quality of life is getting worse. For some businesses, this question hits close to home.

In the Portland Business Alliance survey released Monday, 88% of voters said the quality of life in Portland is getting worse. Another 66% of voters reported mistrust of local officials, and 81% of voters polled said the City Council is ineffective when it comes to providing public services.

The owner at Mimi's Fresh T's said the poll does not give a full picture.

"I wish they would have interviewed more Portlanders, just because I know they did multiple counties and it would be nice to really get a full scope of Portland’s perspective because we’re really in the trenches of this," Kamelah Adams said.

"Everyone is forcing our hands to venture off and see what else is out there. It’s not worth the risk and just a reminder too, a lot of businesses are still trying to get over the COVID hump," Adams said.

Who care what the people who voted for these politicians think especially when we can bet the farm they’ll vote that way on the next go round? Those leftist seats are safe. The politicians can do what they want…and the are.

Holey Moley!! Double-down on your "investments," strategy, and liberal pablum gobbledy gook!
City Commissioner Carmen Rubio

"I too share Portlanders’ frustration that we have yet to see results from our decisions and investments. And when I joined the Council a year ago, Portlanders had told us they wanted us to transform our public safety to be more community-centered and to work on houselessness with compassion and transparency. As a Council, we are doing exactly what we’ve been asked to do, and we’re continuing to make significant investments on all of these issues:
* community-based public health violence prevention strategies
* filling vacant officer positions
* body cameras
* transitional housing and shelter sites with wrap-around services
* behavioral and mental health services

...and we did it all in partnership with community organizations and our regional government partners. Like all investments, these take time to take root and grow -- and I really want to thank our community for their patience. I know these investments will pay off and will move us toward building an inclusive, safe and affordable Portland we all want."

And I KNOW that, when the unicorns arrive, the world will be a very happy place.

Just like with COVID, politicians simply CANNOT declare something a colossal failure and correct their course.

Since when are politicians in it to serve? Especially leftist Marxist Democrats. These lefties are juveniles in suits. They are pompous trash... are incompetent, immature, stupid and full of themselves and YOUR money that they help themselves to every couple of weeks in exchange for doing NOTHING. And they have NO intentions of every giving up power once they get it.

You got what you voted for... tyrants.

That’s what mail-in voting will do for you. A one party state.

Those are pretty damning numbers. The City Council will probably declare a lockdown immediately.

‘The politicians ain’t doing nothing’

OH I disagree!
The politicians are doing Exactly what they said they would do. They broke open the prisons, tied the hands of the police officers, turned your streets over to the criminals and then let the place burn like gotham city and the penguin in charge.

Dont come whining now after you voted in these criminals.

No one is apparently complaining about the Fascist Antifa thugs controlling parts of Portland and terrorizing the locals living in Portland trying to run a legitimate business.

“That’s what mail-in voting will do for you. A one party state.”

That is definitely part of Oregone’s problem.

They have been aiming at total state ruling by the left wingers living in and controlling Portland and the universities throughout Oregone.

Mail fraud voting has allowed them to gain control of areas not in previous leftist compounds as noted above.

For about 10 years, we have been a little confused by so called California moderate business people retiring or just moving to Oregone.

They were/are really closet liberals. Their beach heads are in the conservative medium size to even small towns.

Some were up to their eyebrows re growing and harvesting pot very quickly after moving there.
