House Dems seek to advance Equal Rights Amendment after new DOJ opinion
The Hill ^ | 01/27/22 | Cristina Marcos

The Department of Justice (DOJ), under former President Trump, issued an opinion through its Office of Legal Counsel in January 2020 that the ERA is no longer pending before the states and couldn't be ratified because its deadline expired.

In a new opinion issued Wednesday, the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel clarified that its previous decision "does not preclude the House or the Senate from taking further action regarding ratification of the ERA."

President Biden, in a statement issued by the White House, urged Congress to "act immediately" to pass the resolution recognizing ratification of the ERA.

This highly unconstitutional crap has to stop. By any means necessary.

There is no such process for Congress to deem an amendment ratified.

The power to amend the Constitution belongs to the states. This is a usurpation of state powers beyond all else.

If it is labeled the Equal Rights Amendment by the democrats, it probably does the exact opposite.

I wish they’d hurry up and do something about equal rights. So,sad that black folks and rr minority groups aren’t allowed to vote, eat in same rooms as white folks, use the same bathrooms, use the same drinking fountains, own businesses, succeed in sports, become millionairs and billionairs, allow, them to go to colleges of their choice like white folks are allowed to etc etc etc.

Maybe someday this will all happen

It matters little what legislation is passed
What matters is how that law is interpreted,
and who enforces the law !

As all Dem legislation does. Remember when they were trying to mock marriage in various blue state legislatures? The title of the bills were "Marriage Equality and Religious Freedom Act," or something of that sort. Religious freedom was the last thing these laws allowed.

All this proves is that a Democrat socially-communist lawyer or politician will interpret the law to say whatever he or she wants it to say.

Regardless of what the law says.

Maybe Virginia should recall their ratification post haste. Just for fun.

And they are on a roll.

Are they?

Seems like everything they bring to the Floor gets shot down.

They are, however, relentless, and will keep trying.

That's why Rush Limbaugh said they need to be defeated, again and again as long as it takes. The Left is kooky and even humorous when out of power, but kooky and dangerous when in power.

Let's all of us vow to help the Red Wave along in November. We can't be spectators any longer.

That's the most succinct and accurate thing posted on this website in quite a while. I don't care who wins in 2022, 2024, etc. The left will ultimate regain power and ratchet us to the left even more. Conservatives celebrate when they are able to slow that ratcheting a little.

There were three arguments that killed the ERA: it would put women into combat; it would force government to recognize homosexual marriage; it would force government to allow men to use women’s restrooms.

With the failure of the ERA Satan directed liberals to do it the long way. It has taken an additional 35 years but they got ‘er done.

The ERA is not really needed by liberals now, unless they have some new mischief in mind. Perhaps it will become a new argument for abortion or reparations or voting up to 30 days after an election.

Or the basis of a lesson plan so educators can make any boy not aborted feel worthless in the classroom.

The only legal and constitutional way that the ERA can be brought back to life is for both Houses of Congress to pass it by a two thirds margin and send it to the states for ratification -- again.

Even the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg said that the current attempt to revive the ERA in Congress would force her to hold her nose and vote with the conservatives if it came before the Supreme Court.

Let’s all of us vow to help the Red Wave along in November.

***********

As much as I would love to see one, I see this as far from a sure thing. The country is largely populated with people who are easily misled. The Left’s propaganda machine exploits this and works relentlessly to control the peeps; they will pull out all the stops to minimize Dem losses. So I’m not expecting any big red wave in November.

And then there’s the GOP’s penchant for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. A well documented phenomena that needs no further explanation.

And finally, even if there is a red wave there its unlikely (again, based on past history) that the GOP will do anything with it. The same old people will be in power. Nothing will really change that much and the GOP will go right back to appeasing the Dems like they always do.

The hard truth is that we do not have a conservative party that fights for us. Just trying to keep it real.

Thank you. Even when the GOP “wins” it still manages to lose.

Also bear in mind that the Left controls every institution in our society. Its darn near impossible to dislodge them to reverse that. People in this country love the notion of getting something for nothing and that’s exactly what the Dems promise. There’s a sucker born every minute and the Dems are right there to exploit them.

Our only chance to salvage what’s left of this country is the onset of a great economic calamity that leads to a political reset. Pain and fear have a way of changing peoples’ minds. Barring that, nothing will change IMO.

As I said elsewhere, its easier tearing things down than it is building them up. And the Left are masters of disaster.
