Neil Young has posted an open letter to his management team and record label demanding that they remove his music from Spotify. “I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them,” he writes. “Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule.”
“I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform,” he continues. “They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young. Not both.” Young is referencing the steady stream of misinformation about vaccines that Joe Rogan has peddled on The Joe Rogan Experience. Last month, 270 doctors, physicians, and science educators signed an open letter asking Spotify to stop spreading Rogan’s baseless claims.

Joe Rogan has an AVERAGE view of 11 million people.
He is the highest rated show in all of media. He get 3-4x what Tucker Carlson has for an audience. Tucker is the highest rating on cable TV.
Joe Rogan has higher ratings than most Network TV shows. In fact the only regularly scheduled FREE TV Network show that beats Joe’s ratings are “NCIS” and sometimes “The Equalizer”. FYI, the highest rated shows are primarily NFL games and occasional Oprah TV specials. Joe even beats most World Series games.

What these musicians don’t know or won’t admit is that they usually have no control over who gets to play their music. The rights to the music are usually owned by ASCAP or BMI. The artist gets royalties but has no control.
He may be a good songwriter, but I have always hated his whiny, high pitched voice. Spotify can do without him.

This comment earns Neil Young 2022’s Least Self Aware Award. And its not even February.
