A House candidate endorsed by former President Donald Trump, Harriet Hageman, handily defeated Rep. Liz Cheney in a Republican Party straw poll in Wyoming on Saturday, according to the New York Post.
Hageman was awarded 59 votes from the secret ballot of party activists who took part in the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee poll. Cheney and state Sen. Anthony Bouchard, R-Cheyenne, were awarded two, and Denton Knapp one.
"I think it's a good sign, Hageman told the Casper Star-Tribune. "It's not an endorsement, but these are the county activists."

Hopefully Hageman’s lead will be maintained even after Mitch McConnell’s money comes flooding in to Cheney’s campaign.

I read somewhere recently that Wyoming has open primaries so Democrats can vote for/against Republicans in the primaries. The reasoning is Liz Cheney could survive because Democrats crossover and vote for her to keep the real Republican out of the General Election.

When we pick up 60 seats, the Republicans in Wyoming can also vote for the Dem in the general.
Indeed, they can use the extra large one that has recently been vacated.
I would strongly support the Dem if she got out of the primary. A majority where she is the balance of power would much worst than being in thr minority.
Democrats will do all they can to keep Lizard in her seat. She’s weak, malleable, and anti-Trump.
And this is the right time for it too.
The Russian troops usually have special treatment for traitors like Cheney.

Yep, just like they did with McCain, just like they do with Romney, they’ll keep Wiz Cheney in office as long as she attacks her own party.
If Cheney wins the GOP primary due to Democrats crossing over, can an independent run against Cheney and whomever the Democrats put up? Wyoming is among the reddest of states. No big cities. some liberals in Laramie and Jackson Hole but that’s it.
People in rural areas like WY resent it like hell when they are used by politicians who really aren’t one of them. Occasionally jetting into Jackson Hole isn’t the same as cutting wheat in 100 degree weather or pulling a calf at 3AM. Her dad is respected but she is not.
MANY Republicans need to get crushed in the Primaries before we even get to November

Especially when the candidate we are running against is as hated as Liz Cheney is?
