Straw polls are worthless. The key is to keep the number of candidates down to two or three so Cheney can’t dilute the primary vote and slip through with a plurality.

As for Wyoming the party leaders in this straw poll they know even if they like Cheney their vote for her would be a death sentence for their future political careers.
The grassroots would vote them out of their committee posts.
