Everyone here is potentially identified in some opinions with everything that goes on here.

Individuals have a right to complain when someone here posts something that is perceived as extreme or out of line by others.

The mods can decide whether to delete something, but individuals here often feel the need to disassociate themselves with some of the stuff that is posted.

This isn’t widely publicized but whenever there’s a raid against hostage-takers, the first priority is to kill the kidnappers. Safety of the hostages is secondary.

Part of the rationale is that so long just one of the kidnappers breathes, the lives of all the hostages remain at risk. Kill the kidnappers outright and that removes all risk from the hostages.

I was thinking some kind of sedative gas could have been placed into the ventilation system. Just enough to put everyone inside lightly asleep for 30 minutes or so.

The Russians tried that in Moscow in 2002, but 130 hostages died when they were not revived from the sedative gas fast enough.

I cannot recall the name of the city, but I think I know what you’re referring to. About 25 years ago, there was some terror group in Russia that held an entire theater hall full of paid customers hostage. After several days of negotiations that went nowhere, a certain type of gas was piped into the theater ventilation system. I believe that resulted in several score people dead, including the four terrorists.
This may have been just after the end of the Cold War. No one ever speaks of it anymore. I do remember that sadly, many children also perished, their bodies later found sitting next to their parents. This was before the internet was widely known or used.

If it was a school, they may have been in the school auditorium. I recall lots of stories about who was allowed to enter or exit through the big doors in the back. It was very dark most of the time. Just going by photos I saw in the newspapers.
