RICHMOND, Virginia — Republican Glenn Youngkin became the 74th Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia Saturday at a noon ceremony on the steps of the Capitol building in Richmond.
As the new governor took the oath of office, his words were punctuated by Howitzer artillery blasts and a military flyover.

Don’t get too excited. He was employed by the Carlisle Group, and thus is a suspect Bushie.
Youngkin will never please the small group of folks here who are still pissed off at him for winning after yammering on and on about how the Democrats were going to steal the election.
Yeah! The new Boss will be about the same as the old Boss. Not much will change.
I REALLY liked his highly traditional garb!
Even presidents don’t dress that well anymore!
As expected, this thread became negative very quickly. The trolls continue to run wild over FR.
LOL
Actually I think it’s mostly people who insist on 100% conformity to their view of conservatism.
Which is funny because I don’t think many of them recognize that Trump wasn’t that perfect, either.
The posters who think everyone must be perfectly (my personal) conservative, even though they have blinders on when it comes to certain politicians.
There was a whole entourage wearing the same.
Yep. I’m going to relish the aftermath of the red wave in November for the same reason. Some of those clowns may never post again (I hope).
There is definitely some of that too. I’ve seen them want to jettison someone the moment they disagree with ANYTHING they do. They are also the same people that think Amanda Chase would have done better in Virginia.
I can only imagine what life would be like of we ended up with re-tread McAuliffe again here in VA. Take a look at what is going on across the river in Washington DC with vaccine passports/photo ID’s to go out. We don’t have that here in VA and likley will not have any of it (and McAuliffe may have decided to do so like DC) w/Youngkin. We will likley get a lot of the DC business as people there bail. We’ve got the Lt. Gov and the AG and the House, so things will, at the very least, be sane.
Glenn Youngkin is hiring lots of Trumpworld vets

Youngkin plans to fill key Virginia posts with former Trump aides.
In the run-up to his inauguration on January 15, Youngkin has recruited from the ranks of Trump administration veterans, many of whom have faced a difficult job market in the year since the twice-impeached former president left Washington, DC, nearly a year ago.
Youngkin’s transition team, with the assistance of a search firm, looked for younger Republicans outside the Richmond establishment who had recently served in government, a person familiar with the recruitment process told Insider.

What you said.
Well, it will be a 4 year reprieve from leftist, criminal democrat party dictates...I think.
Only reason the Klan didn’t steal it, is because the R’s Were lawyer’d up and watching everything like hawks. They were given no chances.
This election actually made me believe there is chance in 24 for an honest election, but requires all of us to dedicate time to putting eyes everywhere.
I, for one, expect great things out of Youngkin and his team.
Go, Virginia!
I know I would be in the minority, but I hope big business keeps passing over Virginia. Go to Maryland or NC. We don’t need you here.
Cautiously optimistic that he will be better than his predecessor. Wouldn’t take much, though.
Seriously. Too many people here live to be pissed off. Just the other day I had a maniac on this forum denounce Ron DeSantis’ distinguished career as a JAG officer, including service in Iraq and receipt of the (administrative) Bronze Star, on the ground that we wouldn’t have been Iraq if Trump were President in 2003. Still trying to wrap my head around that non sequitur. Give Youngkin a chance, for cryin’ out loud.
