My husband and I wanted to do that this year for our tenth. I have had friends tell me to find a travel agent familiar with Alaska, fly there, rent a car and drive to the destinations you’d like to see. Several have done it and really recommend it. Different than the cruise experience but you can spend more than eight hours at a port then have to hurry back to the ship.
Just drive up the Al-Can highway to Anchorage...
When the ship returns to port (NY), the press will be there to interview the passengers and crew, to find out what happened onboard. -Tom
No thanks. I get my fresh air from opening the window. My food by opening the fridge to whatever I want that 500 people haven’t coughed on and my entertainment from FR posters. No “papers” needed.
It’s commonplace for a cruise to cancel port calls and continue with sea days. This isn’t “cancelling the cruise”, which still continues with food and entertainment. This is just click-bait reporting.
I won’t cruise again until Covid status is irrelevant. When they don’t ask and don’t care about vaccine or test, that will be the only time for me to take a chance on cruising again.
The big cruise ships have enough stuff on board to go two weeks past the arrival date. The passengers are going to be taken care of.
The problem for the Cruise line is that they have a system in place that has all their supplies for the next cruise be at the dock when they arrive. Arriving too early (or late ) messes with that system.
I suspect the cruise line will just sail around until it is time to return to port.
But he gets 50% off his next cruise.
Fool me once... Uh, just no.
We love sea days
HTF do cancel ‘mid voyage’? Here’s a life preserver, swim?
the Norwegian Gem was scheduled to return to New York “shortly,” without providing a definite date.

There is weather anticipated for the Carolina and north.
The boat is scheduled to turn around on the 19th and make the same trip to seven times this spring
There’s limited rations of rum, but all the sodomy and lash you could want!
So what does that mean?
No more shuffleboard?
They are going to scuttle the ship?
‘Someone’ is going to be ‘hardest hit.’
Hubby and I were hoping to go to Alaska for our 30th this July, but don’t think that’s gonna happen right now, for other reasons.
Ne neither, I'm looking at 13 degree weather outside and I don't like it.
Keep lashing the passengers until morale improves!
Pretty soon the airlines will cancel flights mid flight
