A gal I worked with once had to take a week off work once, very suddenly, for a family emergency. What was the emergency? Her kid (I think he was in 9th grade) had been ditching school and had stolen stuff from other kids. She was divorced and not getting any support.
She went to school with her boy and sat in class - every class, and lunch, too! - every day for a week just to make sure he attended class and did his homework, etc. (I don’t know what happened after that, but I was really impressed!)

Victims aren't supposed to shoot back. Victims are supposed to quietly die and let these little teens have their rightful due.
