It’s not moving fast, but ICE has been stagnant for 50+ years. Betting against the EV market force now is a lot like going for vacuum tubes in the 60s. It’s the dead end.

It's merely a mature technology. Again, what is the problem EVs are really trying to solve?

Electric cars are the old technology. They preceded steam powered cars, piston engines cars, rotary engine cars, and turbine engine cars.

What's changed is that automobiles have become standardized enough that government bureaucrats can stick their fingers in the process.

Finding and mining the components for batteries increases in difficulty. Melting and recycling internal combustion engines doesn't require finding and mining more iron or aluminum.

What?

50 years ago, a 350 with a four barrel got 7-10 mpg in a truck. Now the 6.0 liter gets 20mpg and puts out near zero emissions while doing so.

50 years ago, an engine might make it 100k miles. Now they make it to 300k.

You really are a braindead Houserino

“... ICE has been stagnant for 50+ years.”

And with that one statement, you have proven you have no clue what you are talking about. The increase in Hp per unit volume, the various improvements in aspiration, fuel efficiency, reliability, and mechanical efficiency since the ‘70s (50+ years) have been dramatic. Go back to playing with your electric toys, because it’s obvious you have no grasp of this topic.
