We need to be able to spy on all Congress critters and their staffs.
Mea culpa on the whole Patriot Act thing. What I (at the time) considered Cassandras warning if this should be turned against internal political enemies of the swamp dwellers.

I would have to dig, but I believe I was one of those expressiong concerns about the Patriot Act.
Comrade! If you have nothing to hide you need not fear the government’s looking at you. It’s a small price to pay to save our ‘democracy’ from ‘insurrectionists’.

What's that word for when the government is at war with its citizenry?
Write a law and let Congress vote on it.
It will be easier to spot targets for 2022.
