Are they on the verge of collapse? After disaster comes collapse or is it collapse then disaster. I always get that mixed up.

These are relatively small hospitals in relatively rural areas. Sheesh.

I recommend being ready to treat your case, the moment you suspect symptoms. Omicron will be in full bloom the next few weeks in Maryland (especially around DC) - but Delta is still on the march as well. Prepare for the worst.
My plan is to ramp up zinc to 50 mg/day if symptomatic, and 10-20,000 IUs of Vitamin D, and a couple of grams of C per day. I’ll be drinking 1-2 liters of tonic water per day, and taking 10 mg. of melatonin, an aspirin, a Benadryl and lactoferrin before bed. In the morning I’ll have another lactoferrin. Some time during the day, a Pepcid, and some horse paste. All stocks, and food for a two week quarantine, are on hand. I timed my booster for the antibody surge to align with the Omicron wave, three weeks ago.
What can I say - I’m a prepper. I believe overkill is better than underkill.
That said, I am also kind of hunting for my case to get it over with - party plans for New Year’s Eve. By then, and the week or two after, it should be getting pretty easy to contract.

You assume the hospitals are telling the truth. I don’t trust them , Fauci, Wallensky, Collins or any of the other sources. They have a propaganda war against anyone who doesn’t believe their mantra about getting vaxxed. I have had Pfizer but will not get any boosters.
The vaccines are a monstrous assault on our collective health. Myself, many Health Care professionals refuse to abide by the lies and submit to the phony treatments.
Like it or not, Hospital Administrators are not our friends.
The last thing that we want to hear is that you have Hospital Administrator friends who leak to you information regarding the truth of these poisonous injections and the destructive policies which they have implemented.
They are killing people, children are perishing from maladies that are simply not common to the age group.
If you decline to rationally consider this then you are no better than your ‘Administrator Associates.’

All your posts on the vax sound an awful lot like trying to convince yourself the vax is doing something positive for you, like wishful thinking or convincing yourself you made the right decision but are not really sure.
My brother is obese, has high blood pressure, is diabetic, has kidney disease, is alcoholic, got Covid and said it was just a bad cold for a few days. No big deal.
So you can’t know how you would have dealt with it unvaxed. Nobody really knows why it hits some harder than others and some die from it who shouldn’t have and some who you expect to didn’t.
So you think a booster designed for the specific spike protein of the original variant will work for a new variant with different spike proteins?
Did you get the year before last’s flu shot for this year’s strain of the flu, too?
Unvaxxed have 14.9 times the chance of dying over vaxed.

I declared Maryland a disaster in 1966 when I moved to Virginia. Democrats eventually brought ought disaster to Virginia. It think it is their M.O. for their road to power.

All indications are that the vaccines are less effective against Omicron, but still provide some protective effect.
I’ll take whatever edge I can get.

Pre-omnicron the number in the ICU was 10. Now at 23. Part of that growth is just cooler weather.
