Thanks and the same to your daughter! Yes it would have been better to get it TOMORROW instead of TODAY but I’m glad I didn’t need to cancel any flights/vacations at least.
And if the rest of my household gets it now is a good time because they are on their Christmas breaks from school now.
We actually all got together last night at our house, so we’ll see who gets sick. My son (resident physician) and his girlfriend (also a resident) were here. I hope they don’t get it. If it’s Omicron, there’s a good chance they will despite their being vaccinated. He was telling me that he doesn’t know how they can sustain the residency if mere exposure to a COVID-positive person means you can’t work. It will be interesting to see what he finds out about what he has to do. Well, this is all new territory for us. Let’s hope no one gets severely ill.

I hope so he’s just 16 months old, a baby..I had no idea that this would happen to him, just going to get a simple eye exam..did the nurse give it to him(She looked under the blanket to say HI to him) did the doc have it, did someone have it who was in the room before he went in there..I have no idea..I just hope he fully recovers. See we always thought with my 6 yr old nephew in school he would be the one to bring home the virus now that is not the case..he got it from freakin Kaiser
Did your sister rapid test yourself and anyone else that has been around the baby meaning that her or somebody in the house could have given it to the baby? I’m guessing your sister has gone out of the house in the last month.
yeah she rapid tested her hubby since and he was negative..the last time my sis left the house was on Dec 13th she hadnt left since..til Thursday when he had the visit at the eye doctor..she guesses he got it from there..tonight would be 1 night officially of him having fever, right now he has 102.8 but he’s playing with his Dad..Im guessing he got the omicron if he got it from thursday to Friday has to be if he got it that quick
too bad they weren't recording all colds and flu's yrs ago...it would look like we've cured them....
With that geometric progression (doubling every week) in less than a month there will be 100% “infection” aka herd immunity.

The real trick is to keep your immune system strong. Avoiding covid is like avoiding the flu or the head-cold going around, that just isn’t going to happen. Sunlight is a big factor. Sunlight got cut off at the knees when the government decided that everybody needed to be a shut-in and people were getting arrested for even walking through an empty park or walking on a beach over 100 feet from anybody else. I’m so glad I live out west. The winters of 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 were light so I was out desert-hiking all over the place. Even for the month that there was a stay-at-home order, I said, “Screw that, come out to the west desert and southern Utah and come find me. They’ll have to arrest my ass.” I even put an open challenge on Facebook. In 20,000 square miles of desert, good luck!
