Donald Trump said Wednesday that people unvaccinated against coronavirus are the ones getting 'very sick' as he pushed back against conservative Candace Owens by claiming all Americans should get the jab while he again took credit for its creation.
'I came up with a vaccine – with three vaccines,' Trump told the Daily Wire host, referring to the development of the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines while he was still president. 'All are very, very good. Came up with three of them in less than nine months. It was supposed to take five to 12 years.'

In Maine, 27 of 62 recent deaths are “vaccinated.”
But that is because most of the population there is vaccinated.

OK, did you make this conclusion based on his statement about the vaccine? If so, how does encouraging people to get vaccinated relate to conservatism?

Methinks a great many Freepers would be pushing COVID vaccines hard - and Democrats adamantly opposed - were Trump still in office.
It’s true the virus can spread with the vaccinated, it’s also true no one should be fired for not being vaccinated and keeping them out of a restaurant is ridiculous.
However, you and Trump are exactly correct. All the Fox criticism of the vaccine never mentions,or quickly passes over, that it can also save your life.

Note that Canada has a higher percentage of vaccination and the vaccinations are generally more recent.
The vaccines work quite well, but not nearly as well as advocates hoped they would.
Hopefully, J&J will come out with a better fetal cell-free Covid vaccine.
Get the vax if you want the vax. Just leave me out of it and don’t categorize me as a criminal because I don’t think it’s all that for a virus that’s ~99.7+% survivable.

That is the problem. Who, pray tell, WHO is the reliable authority? The percentage of deaths and serious illness of the vaccinated vs unvaccinated is about the most important data point out there, but no one really knows what it is? No doubt it involves the older and/or compromised, but it does matter.
Just the same, citing it doesn't mean anyone is necessarily in favor of mandates, just in favor of presenting essential information for people to take into account.
Yes you can still die but the vast majority of people are now vaccinated so they make up most of the statistics.
The fact is death rates are WAY LOWER than before the vaccines.
However, I do believe that he is boxed in and his legacy is at stake, especially when the the vaxx death toll starts to really roll in. He has a choice of admitting the vaxx is a failure, or going all in.

I know that the shot is poison. I have friends that have worked on it and the testing and I have enough info to make an informed decision. So you pro shot people, do your homework or don’t do your homework. Take it or don’t take it. I don’t care enough to try to change anyones mind anymore.

Trump is doubtlessly aware of COVID vaccine hesitancy in his base. There are two possibilities: (1) Trump is proud of the speed in which his administration cleared regulatory barriers to get the vaccines approved and widely distributed. (2) The Deep State really has damaging evidence against Trump or his family members. Someone with a lot of power or representing them made an offer Trump couldn't refuse. Clowns like Adam Schiff may bilovate and bluster, but the DOJ and New York authorities will not indict as long as Trump promotes the jabs.
Assuming he runs for the Republican nomination for the Presidency, Trump may figure that his opponents would be RINOs like Liz Cheney or Chris Christie, who would be wiped out in the early primaries. The vax issue may be gone by late 2023, and Trump figures it will be a nonissue when he goes up against Biden or whomever in 2024.

A year ago, there were maybe a handful of death a week here from the Chinese virus.
Now, it’s 22 - 25 per day.
New cases a year ago were in the double digits.
A few days ago, there were 1,500 new cases in a single day.
No jab for me.
