MOSCOW, December 21. / TASS /. The US is building up a forward military presence near Russia’s borders, deploying about 8,000 troops in Eastern Europe, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said at the expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry Board on Tuesday.
"The US is scaling up its forward military presence near the Russian borders. In Eastern Europe, some 8,000 US troops have been deployed. As for the grouping of US troops in Germany, the Command Theater Engagement has been recreated there. Until 1991, it was responsible for using medium-range missiles," the defense minister noted. According to Shoigu, it is necessary to have strike missile weapons.

They can always blame a Republican president when he inherits said war.
Spoken like someone who doesn’t have a clue about the eastern Front, or of Desert Storm, and has never been a grunt.
All bravado and no substance.
Typical of the modern mentality. We have been screwing around with low IQ goat humpers in COIN for over two decades.
No, our military is utterly unprepared to take on a large nation state in direct combat. And if we are planning to fight Russia, IN Russia, on the same battlefields where they fought nazis in WWII, it won’t go the way you think it will.
You certainly have more faith than I do with our woke military leaders, and woke administration. Who knows how much of the real men fighting military remains?
“Never, never underestimate the enemy.”
I never have. In my experience it is usually the West that underestimates itself while the adversary thinks too highly of themselves.
As it stands now the standing army is an abject threat to and not a keeper of our freedom.
“So, my domestic agenda is in flames, my approval rating is in the toilet, what can I do to garner support? I KNOW! Start a war!”
Just me?
> Not at all the same as 8000 attacking 100,000k Russians on eastern front WWII battlefields.
But we’ll have all that help from our NATO allies. The Germans, the British, the French, the Dutch, the Belgiums (or whatever they’re called), the Danes.
Come on man, this is patriotism man.
Think what you will.
Hell no we won’t go. I ain’t got nutin’ against no Ruskies....
This article bears very close reading if you don’t want to be misled. Nowhere does it state that there is a single U.S. soldier actually in Ukraine. It says that there are 8000 U.S. troops in “Eastern Europe”, which of course includes NATO member Poland. That shouldn’t surprise anyone and has been the case for years now.
“That was before the US military went woke and started with the Covid vaccine mandates.
The mandates will be a strong deterrent to young people who were thinking about joining the military.
Our military is declining—fast”.
Good post.
Our military leadership today is pitiful and disgraceful. In years past the top brass would have stood up (as the Marines have always done until recently) and stopped the mandate BS.
The enemy gets a vote. You seem to believe that some razzle dazzle kind of techie warfare will defeat Russia, and they will accept defeat on their home turf.
You attack them and they will return the favor somewhere else. Did you know that they might hit you elsewhere besides eastern Ukraine?
Do you further know that it is an article of near religious faith that any nation attacking their homeland gets nuked? The days of attacking them and causing an existential threat are gone unless that nation gets obliterated in return.
And all for a nazi infested globalist WEF Ukrainian coup. No thanks. No US interest 150 miles from Stalingrad and 90 miles from Kursk.
I would not bet on that.
You better hope so because the minute we go to war with Russia, china takes the Pacific and we won't have the industrial capacity to fight for more than a couple weeks.

Yes yes. The Russian Army, Navy and AF are not as capable as the USA, but don’t be fooled into think they would be a walkover. Other people far more competent people than US NeoCons have tried and it hasn’t turned out well.
He expected the Japanese to return the favor and start a war in the Far East. This would have denied USSR use of the Siberian reserves that played crucial role in the battle of Moscow and quite likely would have led to winning the war against the USSR. Thus, two fronts for USSR but not for Germany.
The Japanese did not bite.
In the long run that is the best thing that could happen. Then the USA would HAVE to re-industrialize and we could round up and deport all the Free Traitors.
