Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday said Floridians know that he will not "let anybody lock them down" or take their jobs away.
"At the end of the day in Florida, Floridians know we will not let anybody lock them down. We will not let anyone take their jobs," DeSantis said. "We will not let anyone ruin their businesses, and we will not let anyone close their schools, so people are going to be able to live life. They're going to be able to make their own decisions."
The Republican governor made the comments on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" while discussing new concerns over the omicron variant of COVID-19, which has driven new cases to alarming levels over the course of the last two weeks.
"I cannot believe that something that started with 15 days to slow the spread," DeSantis said. "Now, almost two years later, you're seeing lockdowns and closures."

In other words, we’ll continue to get more hypocritical leftists down here on vacation, like Don Lemon and Nazi Pelosi.

DeSantis is the ONLY Republican governor pushing back against the FedGov leviathan. We need more, many more, but most of the rest are just RINOs, Assistant Democrats, last decade’s Democrats, call them what you will. They don’t respect freedom. They want lockdown powers as much as Biden’s string pullers do. Not DeSantis. He stands alone.
There are many not locking down.
He is so head and shoulders above everyone else. It amazes me that other Republicans don’t see how popular he is, and copy him, even for self-serving reasons. There is no substitute.
DeSantis doesn’t seem to be concerned about starting a ‘firestorm’ on the left...go figure.
He and Abbot are birds of a feather.

I would say we here in Florida ..and much of the South..are ready to resist.
DeSantis is a wonderful leader. We will not shut down again, and it will be hell on anybody who tries to make us m.
