Former President Donald Trump leads the hypothetical 2024 GOP primary by double-digits, a Harvard/Harris Poll released this week found.
The survey asked Republican voters, “If the Republican presidential primary for the 2024 election was held today, who would you vote for? “
According to the survey, a primary with Trump in the mix would be no contest, as he leads his closest potential challenger by 58 points, garnering 67 percent support. No other potential challenger garnered double digit support. Former Vice President Mike Pence came in second with nine percent support, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) with eight percent support.

DeSantis is focused on his own governor’s reelection race in 2022. Whatever he might think down the road, he’s got to take one step at a time.
“This. Anyone thinking that Candidate DeSantis or President DeSantis would not face the same all-out war of dirty tricks, smear campaigns and official corruption is kidding themselves.”
This is an excellent post.
This “hate the Republican President BS” goes back to the Nixon era, they’ve only increased and accelerated their lies and hatred since the 1968-1972 time period.
“Hate the Republican BS” plays well with the urban voter of all classes, both rich and poor in those areas love it. Another group that likes to play hate the Republican are foreigners from Europe and the Anglo sphere countries.
We could run Susan Collins and they’d have a ku klux klan outfit “measured out” for her by the general election.
How did Pence manage to rank so high? The poll was conducted at Fox News Corp headquarters?
The allusion to not running in 2024 was he said he intended to serve the people of Florida for two terms.
Trump is acting as though he will run again. It is implausible that the two of them do not communicate and discuss political strategy.
Who is “not so divisive”?
How did Pence outrank De Santis, is the bigger question. Remember, it’s a Harvard/Harris poll.
If God were to make me President tomorrow, I’d take the job on the sole condition that I could appoint PDJT (that’s President, not “former” President) my VP. Then, ASAP, I’d resign the Presidency and happily return it to the real, actually elected, President, Donald J. Trump.
Trump could clean out the commie nests in DC and get the country back on it’s feet then hand off a sane country to DeSantis in ‘28...
Unless the republicans are at the polls (watchers, attorneys, etc.) and engaged. Last time it was just a rally, party, flotilla, marches, wearing trump caps, shorts, flags, etc. They didn’t do anything and pilled on a band rally.
DeSantis is the ONLY one who might make me think twice.
Great idea! An added benefit: it would really anger the Dims...big time.
Liz Cheney’s attempts to destroy Trump-ism is sure making progress. Had enough yet? Surrender, Donald. Or else./s
All these other contenders just need to get out of the way and position themselves for ‘28. Trump has already shown he can do the job superbly.
Pence belongs in traitors prison. I hate the bastard for what he’s allowed to happen to’this country and as a back-stabber.
Eat it NeverTrump! Eat it and choke on it!
Yup.
They launched all out war on Bush. Same with Romney too.
Seems like the pendulum swinging has a large Bungee cord involved.
Any Republican will be “divisive”, the Ministry of Propaganda will make it so.
Maybe someone is dislexic...
Maybe it is 85 !!!!1
“If God were to make me President tomorrow”
I would fire Fauci and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate him; then I would give both Thomas Sowell and Trump the medal of freedom, and ask both to be my advisors.
Then I would take a nap.
