In today’s connected, video covered world, what do they expect to do? This isn’t 1960 when you could create an entire new identity and life with little effort. Just go to a cemetery and find a guy born when you were and send a letter to the various archives asking for a copy of “your” birth certificate. Go get a “copy” of “your” driver’s license, etc. etc. Then, never contact your family or former friends.
But today? You’d need the resources of an intelligence agency to reestablish a new identity. I give them two weeks on the lam, tops.

The kids mother posted after she and her son had been out shooting that they were trying out his “xmas present.” The kid posted a picture of himself holding the gun, “my new Sig Sauer.”
I don’t know why decent, responsible gun owners are defending these lunatic creeps. They make everybody look bad.
The kid and his parents had a meeting with the school that morning... everything was laid out to the parents... they told the kid to go to class..
The kid picked up his backpack and went to class..
In his backpack was the pistol his parents had bought for him for Christmas and a couple of extra magazines..
He went and shot the place up..
All the warning signs were there..
The school suspected, the parents were informed..
They bought him a pistol anyway, and allowed him to take possession of it..
Nobody in the office bothered to check his backpack before he left the meeting with the school and his parents...
Not only are the parents legally responsible for what happened, but so is the school
They do not appear to be affluent, maybe even lower middle class. They did not see the red flags their son was waving, but sometimes when IN situation there is no ability to see it objectively.
I feel bad, almost, for them. Maybe they thought they had found a new family hobby that would help their kid. Something to do on Christmas vacation.
I am not being sarcastic.
Common sense says the guns should have been locked up.

And when they get to my age (whole northern part of continent), ‘hot’ no longer applies and it’s more like Siberian frozen.
While many south and eastern Asian women hold up well.
I don’t understand why they aren’t being prosecuted for Federal charges as well ... straw purchase in order to circumvent the 21yo Federal age requirement for a handgun purchase. Apparently those laws don’t actually mean anything, they just inconvenience responsible gun buyers?
It worked out okay for OJ Simpson.

Wrong. The parents were shown the threatening drawings done by their son just hours before their son shot and killed four kids.
Don’t know about airport x-ray scanners...
But they use X-rays on the conveyor belts of the diamond mines.
Surface diamonds will produce visible light when irradiated and other X-ray processes show diamonds buried in the mix.
And just last week my wife was asked to go into the security room the scanner showed a red dot on her shoulder?
They looked at the bare skin and rubbed it a bit, perhaps looking for hidden treasure?
She has a shoulder injury and googling around shows this to be a common occurrence.
Question?
Aren’t diamond sales to individuals usually at retail price and when you sell the best would be wholesale?
That’s the prosecutors narrative.
Have they arrested the school administrators yet? Are the school admins charged with manslaughter?

Kids draw that stuff all the time. All the time.
It is not a threat in the vast majority of cases.
Parents say the gun was stolen by the kid. And that it was stored in dad’s dresser.
According to your logic, any parent who does not have their guns in a locked safe would be responsible for any act committed with the gun.
That’s crazy CA law.

—BREAKING - The Crumbleys are turning themselves in, according to their lawyer. James and Jennifer Crumbley had supposedly left the area for safety reasons and are now returning. The downside for them: this now may mean spending the weekend in jail before they can be arraigned.
