And who aimed the gun where it shouldn’t have been pointed in the first place, cocked the hammer and pulled the trigger? What a lying piece of excrement.
This trial will go on for a long time when the defense puts a loaded gun on the table for the jury to wait and see it shoot by itself.

The type of prop gun he was holding is an Italian replica of a pre 1870s revolver. It comes in two models the original historically accurate version that has no firing pin safety mechanisms. The other version is a modern replica identical in the outside but has the modern transfer bar safety that keeps the firing pin off the primer until the trigger is fully pulled. The original 1870s version will fire if you pull the hammer and drop it back on the pin. This is called going off half.cocked as you half cocked it. And the origin of the expression going off half cocked.

Some clients have egos so big they will not accept legal advice. I've had a couple of them. When you get one it's best to withdraw because when things go south they will blame the lawyer.
I get that he could have fanned the hammer—by accident or through irresponsibility. In that case he utilized the other means of firing that type of weapon. One or the other happened. The piece didn’t just go off. He’s either lying or practicing a lawyerly evasion. I didn’t start off wanting to think the worst of this guy because he’s unlikable. Right now it sounds like he’s digging his hole deeper every time he opens his yap.
Alec the actor is correct, it’s not his fault. But Alec the movie producer is a different story, the producer is completely in charge and responsible for everything.

We are watching in real-time Baldwin becoming the most hated man in America.
Bottom line, it was a tragic accident, multiple missteps, but it was in his hand and he was pointing it - involuntary manslaughter, 7 year prison, 25 million civil settlement, and he's done.
Classic text book denial.
