Gilliam stated, “When he had his weapon and he was confronted by these imminent threats of loss of life or serious bodily injury, he engaged in a proper manner to eliminate the threat. You didn’t see him out there hammering people down, mowing people down. It’s when the threat got too close and it posed an imminent threat … he took action.”
Rittenhouse’s control of his firearm was “amazing,” Gilliam emphasized. “[He] held his weapon properly … kept his weapon in his hands when he was getting beat [and] when he was running. He wasn’t sweeping people. He didn’t drop his gun, He held onto it and maintained positive control the whole time with his finger off the trigger.”
Leftist riots would have been prevented had thousands of Americans followed Rittenhouse’s example to defend the peace, Gilliam held.
“He was going to help out a neighborhood that he knew was going to be targeted by violent thugs that burned places down and destroyed businesses and lives,” he observed. “He went there to support those people. If 10,000 people had gone there and done that, none of that stuff would have happened.”
He added, “I commend him even more because he had the guts to go there at 17 years old, and go there and try to help people, take care and save their community. He didn’t do anything wrong.”
Videos of Rittenhouse shooting his attackers revealed “great weapon-handling skills,” Gilliam concluded. Rittenhouse “did not engage targets that were not presenting an imminent threat of loss of life or serious bodily injury

Nurse-not ok. Sit in a cubicle taking orders and wearing a headphone-low profile. Think of Wm. Kennedy Smith the medical student. The nurses would either refuse to work with him or want to hop in the sack. Think Samantha on Sex and the City.
Just my take.
He could always open a security business with Bernie Goetz.
Apparently he just shot it some at the range with his friend. His level of firearms knowledge is indeterminate — remember his “I don’t know, a bullet is a bullet” in response to Binger’s absurd line of questions about the difference between hollow point bullets (which according to Binger just explode inside the target) and FMJ bullets.
I agree with the article - his firearms handling, and trigger/muzzle discipline was amazing.
Is Goetz still around?
We have metastasized Yamamoto’s sleeping giant.
I think the military would be a great option for him. He wants to be a nurse, how about a medic for a SEAL or Special Force team. He is calm and incredibly focused under fire.
I was very impressed with Rittenhouse when I watched his testimony in his own defense. Pretty calm and articulate for an 18-year-old.
After watching his interview with Tucker Carlson, I was really impressed. This young man never once dropped a, “like”, “ya-know” or any of the stupid tag words kids commonly use these days.
I told the wife that I was pretty certain I wouldn’t have done nearly as well when I was 18.
Smart, articulate kid, which may have something to do with his parents??
I’m glad to hear this Seal’s assessment. It appeared to my amateur eyes that this was an amazing performance under intense pressure, but this Seal confirms that.
Yeah...I told a friend today he could join and be a medic.
I’m very not knowledgeable about guns and all that, but a year ago when I saw the footage of him doing what he did, I was so impressed. Even a dope like me can recognize it. :)
Bkmk
As someone who has owned and handled guns of all types for nearly 60 years, I was very impressed by Kyle’s weapon handling skills when I first saw the videos last year.
the military would be toxic to him.
Kyle's spectacularly flawless performance
under immense pressure is simply astounding
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if moments before the SHTF
Kyle heard St Michael(or his Guardian Angle) whisper in his ear
"Just relax kid... I got this"

I don’t like how woke they (the military) are now, but I’m worried about him going to a university. If he were my son, I’d probably tell him to go to a trade school...suggest it. If he had his heart set on being in the medical field like a medic or nurse, I’d probably suggest he go in the military. With the notoriety of this case, I wonder if he would have any trouble getting into the military? Could they prevent him from doing so?
He would do well at Grove City College. Conservative. Military kids.
Maybe but a better option is to bring a huge law suit against the media and sit back and retire in style with his hundreds of millions.
*Is Goetz still around?*
Works from home I believe. The park service sends him their injured squirrels and he rehabilitates them.
*the military would be toxic to him.*
Correct. The military teaches one to be dependent on his teammates. He works best on his own wouldn’t u saye’?
You mean when clearing the malfunction? Just recently read something about that here at FR.
Actually I watched the vids many times and never noticed it.
