Guilty of trying to be the police and not calling the police.
They tried to detain him, and Goober got too close with the shotgun and killed him.
One could argue self defense, but it doesn’t look good.
Three white guys with a truck chasing down one black guy on foot.
They tried. But in Georgia, as in I think every other state, if you initiate the incident and things go wrong and you kill someone then you can't claim self defense. The McMichael's started it so they're responsible for anything that happened.
Black guy on foot seems to have been a habitual & chronic PROWLER.
Who had allegedly stolen a hammer. Doesn't seem like a crime deserving of death IMO. Even if they had managed to detain him over the theft of a hammer, nothing would have come of it. Ahmaud was not going to jail for stealing a hammer. This whole thing was a big "Doh!" for the defendants.
however, there's no proof the victim did anything criminal and three guys followed him for no legal reason....
probably guilty....
Wrong. The elder McMichael was the police, (retired) and he did call the police.
They tried to detain him, and Goober got too close with the shotgun and killed him.
They yelled for him to stop, but they did not physically grab him. He physically attacked the man with the shotgun.

Oh, is that why we see the truck in front of him as he was running towards it? Is that how "chasing down" works?
