I am sure they are not supposed to consult the Internet or other sources, but I would bet that at least one of them will anyway.

The judge should not have let them take anything out of the courtroom with them, and they should have been sequestered.

Yes!

Good thought. She could come back and say, “Based on the research I did...”

And a true Karen would say, “You told us not to research THIS case. So I didn’t do that. I just researched Wisconsin law and previous legal cases and what all this meant. Oopsie!”

If she’s replaced with an alternate, we’d get (we hope!) a Packers fan gun-toting guy and they’d say NOT GUILTY across the board.

WIll see.

If the ‘tainted’ the jury deliberation with outside info... it’s a mess. More like a mistrial without prejudice.

Wisconsin State Senator Lena Taylor was outside the Kenosha courthouse today.

She pulled a Maxine Waters and implored the jury to to think of the people they (the jurors) will have to answer to based on verdict vote.

Gonna need sitting politicians to refrain from jury tampering.

Edit: I saw this on another forum.

Any juror(s) annoyed with the self-appointed research analyst juror should ask directly, “what did you find out about the law related to our jury instructions last night?”

Wow, so stupid. If someone is trying to kill you I would expect one would use every means necessary. Surely the jury is not that craven or stupid?

I have a sick feeling. I have a feeling most are leaning guilty and putting pressure on the others.

How about we do an exercise tonight.
We agree that Kyle is innocent. Let’s forget that for a nano second.
What if we try to answer the questions just like the jury has to according to the instructions. How long would it take us after we decipher the wording? Will we get stumped on a question?

I think the presiding juror might be trying to do a reverse “12 Angry Men” (1-2 jurors trying to convince the others that Kyle is guilty of at least one count).

They don’t have to google or research anything.

Ask Alexa.

How many of them have an alexa at home?

They should have been sequestered.

” I have a feeling most are leaning guilty...”

This concerns me. I have carried legally for over 40 years. Putting my self in KR’s shoes I would have done what he did except he missed the black Jumpkick guy and I would probably not have missed him. So that in itself alone would have hung me. But you did notice how he backed off after the miss. He also had a long rap sheet.

Kyle was a scared teenager among hard criminals....

“Will we get stumped on a question”

Yep and will have to look it up to find an answer or ask her brother in law lawyer what he thinks or that state senator lady that was out there influencing the jury/crowd.

It would be over two days ago if the jury had been sequestered. Letting them go home just let’s them continue their quest for fame.
For some, this will be the most important event in their mundane lives.
Doncha know.

When info about JKM came out, it did say that Kyle had shot him. There were bullet holes in his shirt. So it was very close to hitting his body.

From the news of the MSNBC producer, the jury is all staying at the same hotel, not going home.

I don’t know how sequestered they are in that environment.

Yes, for some this will be the biggest thing in their lives. I count myself fortunate to not have been drawn into a public spectacle like this.

I know for sure that if one or two of the few freak liberal types I know, I promise they won’t budge with their decision to convict him and would consider it a badge of honor to do so. Bet there are a couple of female activist heroines on the jury and they are rabid animals.

“””From the news of the MSNBC producer, the jury is all staying at the same hotel, not going home.”””

Nothing was announced in court that the jury would be sequestered during their deliberations, but it is certainly likely that when the jury went to the deliberation room, they were told by the bailiff they would be spending each night in a hotel.

However, since you are quoting MSNBC, I really doubt the jury is spending the night in a hotel.
