Don't know how lively this thread will be, but there is coverage of sorts going on so I figured it merited a thread for FReepers to comment on and post updates as they occur.
When the twitter logon popup is on your screen, ignore it. Click in your browsers address bar so that your cursor is at the end of the URL and the URL is not highlighted then hit enter. It should reload the page with just the thread you are interested in. Also, when on the author’s home page you can select “tweets and replies” but it only shows a couple replies and reveals a couple more each time you click “show more replies”.
I don’t think merely having a gun could protect them from all the possible forms of retaliation. Peoples’ lives are destroyed online every day, now.
Exactly....Never know which way the wind will blow with this jurors. Specially if you have a couple of anti-Second Amendment jurors sitting there. Kyle and his mother must be beyond themselves right now. Pray that God’s peace envelops them tonight... it must be horrific to know that your son’s life is totally in the hands of these 12. 🙏🏻 Pray
Thanks for another alternative way to get replies to show up. Someone’s earlier comment about just clicking the tweet itself and the comments appearing seems to work 100%
I disagree with the people who think that the length of deliberations indicates that the jury will go with guilt or innocence - and that it will be ‘guilty’ if it isn’t quick.
We’ll know when we know. People are individuals, and every case and every venue are unique.
I agree... In these days I don't think it's possible to find 12 who are not effected by the politics of the day.. Distrust, hate and discontent are everywhere.. I believe we are more divided today then anytime in our history, with the exception of the American revolution...
I cant believe they are holding this trial in Kenosha the scene of the crime!! How is this kid supposed to get a fair trial? He should have been tried 1,000 miles away at as neutral a city as possible.
They did ask them during jury selection.
That is just crazy that the judge didn’t sequester them.
or that defense didn’t go for a direct verdict from the judge vs jury.

I know they’re not now but could they be? It doesn’t seem that juries have always been sequestered at the beginning of deliberations - I think sometimes it happens AFTER they’ve begun but wouldn’t swear to it.
Robert Barnes, who worked with Rittenhouse defense, said based on polling done by Rich Barris, they felt they had a better chance in Kenosha. The people there understand more what really happened during the riots. Vs people outside the area, who got mostly fake news.

No, you did something right!
I think they are not sequestered because maybe they have reached a verdict and they will not announce it until in the morning. That will let the State and Town to get setup for a innocent verdict while the rioters are asleep.
Maybe I’m dreaming but this trial is not that complicated (except the instructions to the jury) and the evidence was overwhelming for only an innocent verdict.
No way twelve people will find him guilty of anything, once the gun charge was dropped.
Maybe I should figure out what I did, and do it again :-)
