Me, too. We had a coal furnace and a chute on the side of the house for the coal man. And this was in a big city in the 50s.

We had 1/2 ton of coal delivered about twice a year...

Actually Im a coal miner’s daughter...

My Dad owned the mine and worked in it...

Then came home and worked on the farm...

He was always home when I got back from school...sheep, chickens...grew all our vegetables...

Mom used coal to cook and for the living room fire and to heat our hot water...

I dont remember ever being hungry...

Coal gave us a good life...

and industrious parents helped a lot also...
