RNC announces 'Pride Coalition,' partnership with Log Cabin Republicans ahead of midterms
Fox News ^ | November 8th 2021 | Brook Singman

The Republican National Committee announced its first ever "RNC Pride Coalition" over the weekend, partnering with the Log Cabin Republicans to invest and mobilize LGBTQ communities ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

The announcement came during the Log Cabin Republicans' "Spirit of Lincoln Gala," which took place Saturday night at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, and attracted a high-profile group of attendees, including former President Trump and former first lady Melania Trump, who was the event’s guest of honor, and other prominent Republicans, including former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who was given the "Majority Maker" award, said the RNC is "committed" to working with the Log Cabin Republicans — the country’s largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBTQ conservatives and allies — calling the organization "a partner to fight for our country’s future."

"Conservatives in Log Cabin don’t just share our vision for a free, secure and prosperous America — they enrich it by adding unique perspectives to our party and recruiting even more diverse candidates and supporters to join our cause," McDaniel said.

"The RNC is launching our first-ever RNC Pride Coalition," she continued, adding that RNC Pride will "work alongside our other coalition groups to invest in communities and mobilize support for the upcoming midterms."

President of Log Cabin Republicans Charles Moran said the organization was involved in both the Virginia and New Jersey governor's races last week, and plans to "play an even bigger role on the ground in the midterm elections next year helping Republicans win back the House and Senate."

"When LGBT conservatives are included in Republican campaigns, we win," Moran told Fox News.

Grenell, who was the first openly gay U.S. Cabinet official in history, reflected on the evolution of the Republican Party, calling the progress "phenomenal."

It doesn’t bother me, but I don’t understand how Ronna kept her job and Trump supports her after the 2020 Presidential Election.

If you watched “Apprentice” you’d have an idea about him.

Good or bad.

I say that to Dems all the time. They should love all his “diverse” friends - celebrities and all. As well as their charities (for the Celebrity part).

I don’t fault The Donald for it all. It’s good he can get along. But endorsing such things - no. Even Cyndi Lauper propping up a f a g charity (while whining “no one cares about the gays”) was beyond the pale for me.

I found it funny on Apprentice that often the homo contestants had more decency than their PC hetero counterparts. Not one homo endorsed some homo charity - it was better causes than that. Only one homo was a total buffoon - the show with Arnold ruling over it.

The homosexual political agenda should concern you mightily.

They have redefined and destroyed civil marriage. They have created a persecution cudgel against anyone with biblical morality. They have perverted kids and protected the perversion of us all. They are keeping from the marketplace those who have beliefs that affect their work. They have introduced sexual politics into the military and we have everything from children being chemically sexually attacked to women being prevented from sport.

> "So we should kick Richard Grennell out of the Party?

Of course not. Grennell is a top performer in executive settings. His personal life is irrelevant as long as it doesn't involve crime.

Let's repeat that in fewer words:

That's the point. Private lives are private as long as crime is absent.

What the RNC is doing is promoting a private lifestyle that should remain private. At the same time they insult Christians and Jews who cannot allow this private lifestyle to be paraded in public because it goes against their teachings and against the example they wish to set for their children.

It's similar to promoting prostitutes or groups that conduct orgies. These are not lifestyles to be celebrated in public.

If someone were to ask RNC leaders if homosexuals are allowed in the party, the appropriate response is, "That question is irrelevant. We focus on a person's professional performance, not their sexual attributes. "

The next logical step is softening or deleting the RNC platform plank on traditional family marriage. Then comes the explicitly pro-gay plank.

What’s next for the RNC— pandering to the pro-abortion crowd with eventual embracing of abortion on demand? Because you know once you let the camel’s nose under the tent, it will never stop.

If you think the two parties are indistinguishable now, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Well stated, Hostage. The only thing I would clarify is your comment about why Christians and Jews oppose homosexuality. While it is agains religious teachings, that understates the situation.

Homosexuality is an abomination to our Lord God, and He literally destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for it. So marching proudly in support of something like that is itself evil, worthy of God’s punishment. Again, it is one thing to love sinners and treat them respectfully as we are all sinners. It is something entirely different to offend God by openly parading sin with pride, and it risks divine punishment!

“If someone were to ask RNC leaders if homosexuals are allowed in the party, the appropriate response is, “That question is irrelevant. We focus on a person’s professional performance, not their sexual attributes. “

That would be the smart thing to do.

Which is exactly why they don’t do it.

I think it’s one thing to say that the ideals of the Republican party can appeal to gay people, specifically conservative ideas such as small limited self-government, the ideas and principles of federalism, in the notion that there are just some things that government can’t do well and even where it does do well maybe government shouldn’t be involved there because it puts other liberties and rights at risk.

This is not the same as adopting a gay agenda.

Liberty and freedom, rule of law, etc is something that should appeal to everybody regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, religion, or sex. People have a right to be free. But this is not the same as creating a pro-gay agenda that has nothing to do with these principles.

But this is not the only thing that the Republican party has adopted from the left. Fiscal conservativism in the RNC is an untouchable subject. Now the RNC promotes welfare: elderly welfare, poor welfare, corporate welfare, Church welfare, basically any type of welfare.... The Republican party has gotten rid of all sorts of things that its conservative base believes in.

The dumbest of the dumb run the GOP.

They say that gay people are on average more intelligent than the average, so it should not really surprise anybody that many are Republicans.

Don't confuse intelligence with morals. Serial killers and sociopaths are said to have above average intelligence. The Unibomber had a high IQ. And yes, Hitler and Stalin were probably smarter than the average person.

Not that there aren't also highly moral smart people. But intelligence isn't everything. The Ivy League is full of smart yet vile people.

So gays have above average intelligence? So what. They still engage in highly self-destructive, and often predatory, behavior.

David Brudnoy was on radio for a time. He was good. Conservative and smart. Didn’t know he was a chicken hawk.

This right here is what we call the Republican Party once again snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Disgraceful.

Don't call it "RNC Pride Coalition."   Just call it the RNC Log Cabin Coalition.   The word "Pride" co-opts a nuanced Leftist trigger word.

We have to start taking back the language and describe ourselves as we want, instead of allowing Leftists to control issues on their terms or with their terminology.

The GOP ultimately caves to every single social issue and hence we lose it all.

“I am always stunned when I hear someone tell me-out of the blue, no context-that they are gay or lesbian.”

I’ve long thought of it as a subconscious/unconscious need to confess a sin. Like they’re trying to use the affirmation of others to give them a peace of conscience they don’t have.

“Never met a gay man in real life who was not a consummate liar”

I’ve read that even short-term faithfulness in the gay lifestyle is practically non-existent. Frequent, even compulsive hook-ups would seem to set the stage for dishonesty.

“Trump seems to be on their side. Not a good look.”

I’m surprised the libs don’t use this as a wedge issue. Point out how comfortable Trump is with their lifestyle and tick off a considerable portion of his conservative religious base.
