He’s my congressman. I voted for him every time. Too bad Don Manzullo retired, he’s too old now, anyway. A GREAT conservative, and Kinzinger’s predecessor.
Kinzinger made it in on Manzullo’s coattails, and screwed us royally.

One thing people here always underestimate is the intelligence of the Left, which is why they often beat us.

In this case there was NO WAY that Nancy was going to bring this to a vote unless she had the needed number of DEMOCRATS supporting it - far too risky to ambushed otherwise. So she had the votes, but since a handful of Republicans wound up voting her way, she figured it made sense to let them push it over the top and then have our side screaming at our people for not stopping it. BRILLIANT MOVE by her.

And you’re right, the damage was done in the Senate, where 19 Republicans supported it and got it past a filibuster, where Republicans could have stopped it, but didn’t.

This is why we cannot just vote R, let the RINOs lose their elections

23% of the $1.2 Trillion boondoggle is for “infrastructure”. That’s $1,200 Billion dollars.

Trumps border wall was only $25 Billion and was never funded. He had to shuffle funds from other programs.

Good explanation. I know but keep forgetting that The Great Reset is happening and we’re all supposed to be serfs.

Yup - Sesame Street voters……today’s jackass is brought to you by the letter “r.”

The usual argument of the Stupid Party is that we HAVE to vote stupid party because otherwise the dem will get elected…..we’re supposed to ignore every time they fall on their sword to save some monstrosity because ‘muh bah-partusun-ship.’

McCarthy going to make them pay a brutal price? Scalise the “whip” gonna punish their treason?

Next year McCarthy and Scalise will be running and claiming credit for the infrastructure money coming in to their districts.

I’d say McCarthy is pretty much finished. The Republicans in the House need a hammer. Like Tom DeLay used to be.

I don’t understand why President Trump didn’t do more to get infrastructure moved along. I was shocked to see that at this point in their specific terms, Gallup (which I always thought was pro Republican) polled Trump as having even lower approval than Biden.

One TV I saw several vote score cards with low or absent Republican Yay votes. Later I saw one with all the 13 votes.

No doubt some of the Yay Republicans waited to see how ALL the Dems would vote, hoping they would not have to expose themselves to disapproval by voting Yes. After all there are some Republican states that actually WILL get jobs and money from this bill.
