Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday signed a law that restricts transgender students from participating in school sports consistent with their gender identity.
Texas is the eighth state -- and the largest -- to pass legislation this year addressing transgender athletes' access to sports. South Dakota also enacted restrictions, but did so through executive order. Idaho passed similar legislation in 2020, but it has since been blocked in federal court.
The Texas law, known as HB25, passed in the state's third special session. It allows student-athletes to participate only in the interscholastic sports that correspond with the sex listed on their "official birth certificate," which is defined as the document issued "at or near the time of the student's birth."
A student-assigned female at birth may participate in boys' sports only if a corresponding girls' sport is not available, such as football and baseball.
Texas joins Alabama in affecting not just transgender girls' ability to participate in girls' sports, but also transgender boys' ability to participate in boys' sports.
"My heart is breaking all over again for our communities in Texas who have been tirelessly and fiercely fighting anti-transgender legislation session after session," said Anne Lieberman, director of policy and programs at Athlete Ally. "HB25 is yet another callous example of lawmakers passing legislation that bullies and targets kids who just want to play sports with their friends."

When I read the title, I thought, WTH. Of course, actually READING the article, put a lie to the headline.
Thanks. I had never heard of that.
According to Wikipedia, Ratjen was born with ambiguous genitalia and was raised as a girl, and he kept it up even though he realized that he was a man: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinrich_Ratjen
Given that he was found out to be male, and he returned his medal and had his records expunged, by 1939, it is absurd that Facebook won’t let you post that. That he was a man has been public knowledge for over 80 years!
>> ESPN are lying scumbags.
ESPN is Disney
Fast forward to today...
Do flamin' queer boys wrestle against straight ones?
Talk about SHAME if you lose THAT match!!
ESpecially when we now pound it into boys’ heads not to TOUCH a girl without her signed, sealed and delivered ‘permission’.
yup
The 1936 Summer Olympics were organized in Berlin, Germany at a time when Adolf Hitler was in power. Hitler used these Games as a stage for showing the rise of the Nazi Germany to the world. His philosophy was that the whites, especially Germans, were a better and the only civilized race on the face of earth. Colored, weak and Jews had no right to live among the civilized people, that’s what he thought.
But, in Berlin, Hitler was left red-faced by Jesse Owens; a black, track & field sportsperson from the United States. Owens won four gold medals (100m, 200m, 4x100m and long jump) beating all his white and German competitors. Hitler was reportedly annoyed by Owens’ performance because it thwarted his ideology that considered black people inferior. Owens’ feat was one of the biggest blows to what Hitler preached during his lifetime.
The photograph shows Owens standing on medal podium in gold position and saluting the American flag. People appearing this photograph include (left to right):
Each of the German victories, and there were a surprising number of these, made him happy, but he was highly annoyed by the series of triumphs by the marvelous colored American runner, Jesse Owens. People whose antecedents came from the jungle were primitive, Hitler said with a shrug; their physiques were stronger than those of civilized whites and hence should be excluded from the future games
You wanna play as a girl?
Then we chop off the parts that identify you as a boy.
Viola! Simple fix.
