America be lying.

Although language purists will argue that the previous sentence is grammatically incorrect, it shows why African American Vernacular English (AAVE), is sometimes more accurate than Caucasian American Vernacular English (CAVE).

More gaslighting. Just a total disregard for the truth, which is what one SHOULD expect from people who believe men can get pregnant.

“Republicans still refuse to admit voter suppression exists or that there was an insurrection on Jan. 6...”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it the Republicans that freed the slaves from the democrat slave owners?

As for climate change, I doubt if many deny its possibility. The climate has changed in the past and will no doubt change in the future. It might or might not be changing now. The argument is over the cause (crazy thought, perhaps the sun?) and what, if anything we can do about it.

At the meeting Brandon went to in Britain, there was a photo of the Cornish coastline. Compared to a photo taken 99 years later the high water mark was in the same place. So no, sea levels are not rising.

South Carolina was the most extreme of the Deep South states ("too small to be a nation and too large for an insane asylum"). Some of the first seven states to secede (politically dominated by the planter class) may have framed secession in terms of protecting slavery, but the four states which seceded after Fort Sumter did so because of Lincoln's determination to coerce the seceded states back into the Union.

Lincoln did not make ending slavery the basis of his call for troops after Fort Sumter, because he did not want to drive the other slaveholding states (especially Kentucky and Maryland) into seceding. He might have had much less success in getting volunteers to fight if he had announced abolition of slavery as the goal.

Most of the Confederate soldiers were not slaveowners. Why were they willing to risk their lives for the Confederacy? Most of them believed it was their duty to defend their state from the Northern invasion. But not wanting to be in the same country with the Yankees may have been part of it.

I didn’t learn until over a decade later that Lincoln added the slavery issue to get more political and cultural support for the war, which was not going well.

You ought to go back and re-read the various declarations of secession of the southern states.

Really? They didn’t teach you that?

Yep. They really did. It was a real eye opener for me when I learned when and why Lincoln injected the slavery issue into it. And it was at least a decade later.

Alex Haley released ‘Roots’ in 1976. It told the story of slavery. No school since then even discussed ‘happy slavery’. The very thought of slavery was inhumane for centuries. My family came here from Switzerland in 1729 as Mennonites, dead set against slavery.

I’m just fine. The Holocaust was like 80 or so years ago and the world (except Israel) wants to say it’s so yesterday but these whiners keep bringing up white guilt over slavery that happened over 180 years ago.
.................................................
I don’t have ANY “white guilt” but I would have a great deal of it if I acted like the morons who buy in to such ridiculous garbage! In my view every person on the planet should be supportive of all races, ESPECIALLY THEIR OWN!

With race grievance hustling a century ago is the same as yesterday. The wrongs of the past are evergreen and are commodities to be inherited, and not just directly but indirectly, by proxy of the color of skin alone.

But the real truth is that people who’ve got time to feel oppressed by inanimate objects or place names or microaggressions are not oppressed at all, not even one jot.

Race hustling is, like so much else on the “Left”, so many propositions rooted in of lies, abuses and feels. Race hustlers spend their time keeping people unhappier and angrier than they would otherwise be because, to be frank, happy and amiable people wouldn’t feel nearly as much of a need to pay race hustlers for doing nothing.

At the start the South said it was about slavery...

I think for them slavery was the catalyst. It was not about slavery any more than those of us against vaccine mandates would say it’s about the vaccine. It’s about the mandates. And for the south I think it was about the Union telling them how to live their lives as well. In this case it would be trying to abolish slavery.

What’s interesting is that slavery was actually going away on its own. It was becoming too expensive and many of the menial jobs they did were becoming automated.

And the solution the north brought after the war only kept them oppressed. I especially find the “40 acres and a mule” thing darkly comical. Why not a horse? Simple. A few blacks could get together and use their horses to sire all the horses they want. Mules are steril. You have a mule until it dies. Then you have nothing. They may as well have given them sacks of AMD seeds that produce edible, but sterile crops.

The only cure for white racism is to kill all the white people.

The good news—that will be not be necessary...

Because the only cure for “climate change” would be to kill everybody!

Yep. I watched roots end to end. I’ve since come to the conclusion that many black slaves, both in the north and south, had “happier” lives than a lot of blacks in gang controlled urban neighborhoods in the US cities. Though the latter are technically more “free”, many of them have little choice in the direction their lives go. Bastardy is certainly up in the last fifty years.

The very thought of slavery was inhumane for centuries.

Where was that? I thought it was quite common and I understand even the indigenous populations of north and south America practiced it. Until the 20th century and the world started shrinking, I think most of the world was a very brutal place for most of the world’s population, slavery being just one of the problems.
