Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer and injured a director during a tragic accident when a prop gun discharged on the New Mexico movie set of the film “Rust,” authorities said.
The filming location at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Sante Fe was sent into lockdown and production was halted following the accidental double shooting at around 2 p.m.
“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of ‘Rust’ involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” a production spokesperson told Deadline.
The Western drama’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, 42, and its director, Joel Souza, 48, were struck in the incident, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

Countdown to the days until Baldwin is testifying in front of a senate committee about how dangerous all firearms are and must be outlawed. 😑
I hope they do a thorough investigation. It is well known that Baldwin has a bad temper.....just sayin’.
Sounds like a blank shotgun muzzle got jammed into the ground, then fired. The victims were probably right beside/behind Baldwin.
Details will emerge along with culpability, but Baldwin will be held blameless and treated as the victim, regardless.

I saw an episode of Homicide Hunter where an entire family was found dead in the house for no clear reason. Turns out the landlord, a cheapskate, had done maintenance one the heating system himself instead of calling in a pro. He had installed something backwards — the fan, I think — and the house was filled with CO.
When the cops went to bring in the landlord, he had committed suicide.
Well, this is one thing Baldwin won’t be able to pin on Donald Trump.
He’ll find a way.

So how did this big mouth fool manage to shoot two people in the “mishap?” We are not getting the whole story here.
alec Baldwin’s temper got the best of him we see. Original news story was the cinematographer was shot and killed on the alec Baldwin set of rust but now we find it was alec that pulled the trigger. Bet he had some disagreements on the set and he flew off the handle, this will be the next updated story

The person using the equipment is required to understand how it operates ad do the safety checks with the on site prop person. I imagine Alec is too big a star to have to follow procedure. Yes, he is guilty of a crime and won't be charged.
My guns have killed fewer people than Arrec Barrwin has.
No wonder my toilet seat is such a mess.
