Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer and injured a director during a tragic accident when a prop gun discharged on the New Mexico movie set of the film “Rust,” authorities said.
The filming location at Bonanza Creek Ranch in Sante Fe was sent into lockdown and production was halted following the accidental double shooting at around 2 p.m.
“There was an accident today on the New Mexico set of ‘Rust’ involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” a production spokesperson told Deadline.
The Western drama’s director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, 42, and its director, Joel Souza, 48, were struck in the incident, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

Also Brandon Lee died under similar circumstances
I don’t like Baldwin and from the reports available so far it looks like he is guilty as sin of killing this gorgeous young lady (watch her video selfie).
A friend of mine “accidentally” killed a 14 year old girl in a car accident. It absolutely, literally destroyed him. No amount of counseling or assistance or elapsed time could help him.
No matter what happens, Baldwin’s life is changed forever and not for the good.
Why was Alec allowed to have an assault weapon in the first place?

It’s the wadding that is a problem for close up “head” shots. Doubt a blank was what Baldwin fired.

Hoping this despicable schmuck is sued for EVERYTHING, spirals into self destructive depression then ends it (or better outcome is sufficient injury to transform into dependent self aware vegetable) by eating a pistol with said “blanks”.

This wasn't a Glock semi-auto that's so dangerously prone to unintentional discharges due to it's idiotically unsafe design.
This was a single action revolver.
He had to do three separate things to kill that poor woman.
Manually cock it, point it, and pull the trigger.
Not accidental.

I used one of these guns when I was working at an amusement park. They hurt if you get too close to them but we used low propellant.
Thanks for the info. This couldn’t have been a wadding problem because two people were hit. Maybe the blank’s cartridge was defective, and broke into pieces. Then it would be like firing a shotgun shell.

If I were ever involved in an accident featuring a nail and an exploding tire I'd feel very bad for the kid who died.But I wouldn't be "destroyed". If I crossed the double yellow line while drunk and a kid died I hope I'd have the decency to commit suicide.
If this incident was truly due to the negligence of another...or was a genuinely unforseeable accident...I doubt that Baldwin will be "destroyed".
The Santa Fe New Mexican reported the 63-year-old Baldwin was seen Thursday outside the sheriff’s office in tears, but attempts to get comment from him were unsuccessful.
