Colin Powell, 84, died Monday morning due to complications from Covid-19.
Powell was fully vaccinated against the virus, his family said in a statement.
Powell was elderly, a known risk for severe Covid, and suffered from multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that studies show can make the shots less effective.
A study published in late July found that only 45% of patients with active multiple myeloma developed an "adequate" immune response after getting vaccinated with either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines.
Just 22% of patients in the study had a "partial" response....
Offit said fully vaccinated people with weak immune systems should also continue to wear masks and social distance indoors.

How long did he live with the myeloma and how long did he live with the jab?
The good news is that all those co-morbidities that could make the vaccine “less effective” were fully detailed in all public service announcements so that citizens could make an informed decision about the vaccinations....
Not!
yeah. i heard him comment that his cancer had resurfaced recently. he’s a strong man. prayers up for him!
In all of your incoherent ramblings you still haven’t supported your assertion that Powell’s vaccine, you know, HARMED Powell, or made him MORE susceptible to COVID. That was and is my only quarrel with your original post.
I explained how cancer, and specifically multiple myeloma, would have made Powell vastly more susceptible to COVID, how an mRNA vaccine could not have changed that, and how this would account for everything we’ve seen in Powell’s case. Burn all the straw men you want. It’s not going to do a damn thing.
It is likely that given Powell’s state of health catching the regular flu might have done him in.
Well said.
And how many of his critics have ever put on the uniform to go out and fight for the USA?
Secretary Powell died from Covid? Look on the bright side. He beat cancer!!!
Also well said.
