CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) — The average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline jumped 6 cents over the past two weeks, to $3.31 per gallon.

That’s $1.07 more than a year ago.

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said Sunday the rise comes as the cost of crude oil increases and demand goes up in Europe, where refineries are switching from burning gas to oil-based fuels.

Nationwide, the highest average price for regular-grade gas is in the San Francisco Bay Area, at $4.55 per gallon. The lowest average is in Houston, at $2.77 per gallon.

According to the survey, the average price of diesel jumped 11 cents to $3.45 a gallon.

Good thing we have no more covfefe. Now we’re all paying more at the pump.

Ladies and gentlemen, that is progress.

Premium in Texas is now more than what it was in California a year ago. Mid-grade in Texas is within $0.17 of California a year ago, and regular within $0.30. I guess that’s one way to turn Texas into California.

1.99 a gallon for diesel before the election
Now it’s 3.40

I burn 2-400 gallons a week depending on how much I have to run the rollback.

people are complaining because the fuel surcharge is back on my bills.

I didn’t vote for him, not my problem, not my cost to eat.

SaveFerris, it is things like this that bring to me the onset of despair.

It isn't just that people can't link the fact that they are paying far more for energy than they did in the recent past to the change in party stewardship of the government...

It is that they are unable (or unwilling) to see the historical pattern of what happens to energy costs when Democrats take power. This graphic from years ago illustrates that it is nothing new:

It is as disturbing as the clamor by advocates for socialism and communism whose enthusiasm (and that of their acolytes) seems undiminished by the real world evidence of what happens when these terrible concepts and ideologies are actually carried out.

Any thinking person can see that if a party comes to power that is bent on limiting or destroying energy exploration or production, then energy production will go down, prices will go up, and since EVERYTHING in our economy is dependent on energy, the cost of EVERYTHING is going to go up.

It happens election cycle after election cycle when Democrats gain control.

That is what causes me to despair. The fact that people are both unable, and worse, unwilling to see that relationship.

Lowest price I ever paid was 18.9 about 1964 in Texas. Of course it was during a gas war. :-)

My oil and energy stocks were in the dumper for several years but I kept buying low. Now it is paying off.

Lies and denial of reality.
