I appreciate the thought, but no judge has the final say
in total. It takes a full nine member ruling on whether
the full court will hear the case or not.
One judge can’t simply block any cases from his district.
At least that’s how I understand it.
She can rule this way, but I believe they can come back
and request a full court hearing.
Then all the justices would either agree or disagree with
Sotameyor.
I could be wrong, but it doesn’t make sense to me that
one judge out of nine could block access to the court.
She can try, but I don’t think it works that way.
