The Senate passed a standalone continuing resolution aimed at averting a government shutdown on Thursday, which will keep the government funded until December.
The House is expected to easily pass the measure later in the day ahead of current funding expiring at midnight. The stopgap bill includes language to keep the government funded through Dec. 3 — in addition to disaster relief funding and funding to aid with the resettlement of Afghan refugees.
Its passage comes after Senate Republicans blocked a House-passed short-term spending bill that included language to raise the debt ceiling, saying they will not support increasing the federal government’s borrowing limit as Democrats look to pass a sweeping multi-trillion dollar social spending bill.

Courage.
😂 tell me again why you’re a Republican.
YAY more money to give to the Govt who do nothing with it except spend it on utter nonsense
The absolute worst thing that could happen (according to politicians) is for the people to find out that they don’t need government.
How many billions for Afghan resettlement?
Which RINOs voted with the Rats on this? I’ve searched the interweb thingy and not found the newest list of traders.
Stop gaps! Great way to run the country.
Winging it until they all work out their cut.
Spend it on utter evil.. pushing far left wing divisive politics
FCK GOP
I bet a few Republicans in name only vote for that Infrastructure Bill which has absolutely NOTHING to do with actual infrastructure, but has everything to do with the green new deal and giving voting rights to illegals
The GOP surrenders quicker than the French Army.
A year from now we'll repeat this again, just like we've done for the last couple of decades.
Votes list comes up about an hour after the vote.
Dems backed down.
Dems had said it was impossible to separate funding the Fed. Gov’t from raising the debt ceiling, trying to force Republicans to vote to raise the debt ceiling. The media took the bait and accused Republicans of trying to shut down the Fed Gov’t.
Lo and behold Dems suddenly discovered the two items were completely separate. The media should ask why Dems waited weeks and risked shutting down the Fed Gov’t, but the media won’t.

WHEW! Golly I sure was worried the government would “shut down.”
We know the idiots that will vote with the RATs. Same ones that voted to impeach Trump.
They were going to do this sometime. Its absolutely no solution to the overspending of the government. I don’t know how they expect to justify this, unless they know that the 3.5T isn’t going through. I’d be extremely skeptical about that.
