Anyone here wanna make a friendly wager of a 12 pack of beer that this so called "family medical emergency" is of Ms. Weinstein herself. Wouldn't be surprised if she's laying in a hospital bed in bad shape. This is just my thoughts of what's happening.

Yes, it certainly sounds like the “medical emergency” is Feinstein herself. (I wonder if her husband will keep getting his billions in the CA high-speed rail to nowhere construction fees?)
If dead, who will vote her “suddenly valuable to get 50 votes” proxy for the democrats?
McCain, famously, was held on a breathing tube for MONTHS just to get his Arizona seat replacement postponed until just after the closure dates for the Arizona primary had passed.

Has the senate gone to proxy votes like the house has? If Feinstein is physically unable to come to the senate and vote, would that kill the 50/50 dem/repub balance aand shift to advantage repub for the bazillion dollar bills being voted on?
These politicians are a species all their own when it comes to giving up power.
