Around 24 cargo ships and oil tankers are stuck waiting to dock off the coast of Long Island, New York, due to a surge in demand for consumer goods and short-staffed ports.
MarineTraffic, the global ship tracking site, showed ships gathered a few miles off the coastline that stretches from Long Beach in the west to Lido Beach and Jones Beach Island in the east, The Daily Mail reported.
The ships appeared to have been stuck in place since at least Saturday evening, the outlet added.
Pandemic-induced shopping sprees ahead of the holiday season, coupled with a national labor shortage, are thought to be the main cause.

The History of Biden Failures, is constant, devastating, and pointless. This the next one. Only the impenetrable stupidity of the Biden Administration could result in this, particularly due to COVID as a cause... or rather the Government’s idiotic response to COVID. What’s next? I don’t even want to know.
No problem. Just tell BLM that a black guy was shot on the ships, looters will empty them in record time.
Supposedly happening in Los Angeles also.
When I was growing up in New Jersey our neighbor was a member of the Stevedores Union. So much of the work they used to do was automated that he only had to go into work a couple of days per year. But, that said, their contract was so strong that as long as the company was in business they had to pay him. So he sat on a lawn chair in his front yard and drank a case of Budweiser quart bottles a day. That was 50 years ago. One would think it would be even more automated nowadays so how much staff would they need?
Over 60 ships waiting off Los Angles and Long Beach ports.
First they took 30% of our jobs away because of an existential “pandemic.” Then they bitched at the ppl on UI, calling them lazy and telling them there’s “plenty of jobs,” as they stopped extended unemployment. And now they’re claiming there’s a labor shortage. Next they’ll be telling us that’s why they have to let in all of these unvetted 3rd world “migrants.” Destroying the middle class along the way is just another bonus for them. 🤬
Hi.
Here’s a guess.
The Long Shoreman, Stevedores etc union is not too pleased with the Biteme administration. From fuel inflation, stimulus payments, the mandatory vax, etc LA/Long Beach and NYPA are not very happy.

Longshoremen must feel that they’re negotiating from a position of strength.
Record number of container ships waiting off California coast (8.31.21)
The ultimate remedy for unconstitutionally big, alleged election-stealing, Democratic Party-pirated federal and state governments oppressing everybody under their boots...
Consider that all the states can effectively “secede” from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing the following.
Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.
Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states, the amendment limited to repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.
Insights welcome.
You want fuel and food ? Why did you vote for biden ?
Supposedly like 70 backed up.
44 ships off the coast of Los Angeles last I heard.
Also all those shipping containers have to go on trucks. There is a huge truck driver shortage right now.
surging demand for goods
I thought that we were/are entering an economic depression and no one could afford to buy anything.
We need an organizer and a few long weekends to unload it. Take back our country. We have been obedient hostages for 2 years.
