President Joe Biden’s administration may reportedly implement a new policy to limit the number of antibody treatments shipped to some states with high demands for it, possibly curtailing the medicine for states with Republican governors, Politico reports.
According to Politico, the Biden administration is “imposing new limits on states’ ability to access to Covid-19 antibody treatments amid rising demand from GOP governors who have relied on the drug as a primary weapon against the virus.”:
Federal health officials plan to allocate specific amounts to each state under the new approach, in an effort to more evenly distribute the 150,000 doses that the government makes available each week.
The approach is likely to cut into shipments to GOP-led states in the Southeast that have made the pricey antibody drug a central part of their pandemic strategy, while simultaneously spurning mask mandates and other restrictions. That threatens to heighten tensions between the Biden administration and governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis, who have emerged as vocal opponents of the federal Covid-19 response.
The new policy follows Biden announcing his federal policy last week that will have the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mandate that private companies with 100 or more employees implement vaccine mandates or require negative tests. During his speech, the president singled out GOP governors that oppose his policies, vowing to “get them out of the way.”

When you have stockpiled 2M doses for FL and 2.5M for Texas, continue quietly buying and distribute to Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia.
When each of those populations are inventoried for the winter, reveal your accomplishment and yet continue buying and distributing to red states, drive the price through the goddamn roof and teach that son-of-a-bitch a lesson.

I think the feds paid for it so they get to distribute it. And technically, even distribution is perfectly rational to avoid accusations of favoritism. Every state gets the exact same share.
Governors of states that need more would have to beg from states that are stockpiling for future need because the current need is low.

It is. It’s hard to believe. Time for the states to give the fed gov a list of laws, rules, and regulations which no longer apply in their states.
Don’t file any more lawsuits. Don’t listen to what any courts say. Just say that they are unconstitutional on their face and don’t need adjudication.
Each state should have their own lists, and the lists can be in some part the same and in some part different.
If the states would stand up to the fed gov, we could solve many of our problems.

Significant meta-analysis data demonstrates that there are equivocal. The peer reviewed articles are relatively small in terms of N, and never report the other side of findings.
No offense taken. I will continue to not utilize the medications at bedside as they are not as good as monoclonals. We need to make it known that the Biden admin taking over distribution of monoclonals is a crime against American citizens.

Early this morning there was a post regarding another high profile anti-mRNA vaccine person's death. Honestly this afternoon I was starting to wonder if these people are getting less than appropriate medical care. Heck, they are in isolation, no visitors etc. who would really even know? Sad, I would even think this way. But with nurses/doctors in some areas stretched thin, compassion fatigue sets in.
Now this evening I see this report of our President planning to deny life-saving care...all because of a governor, mask, and leaky vaccine? He just as might as well signal to let the unvaxxed die with no treatment at all!
As opposed to President Trump when this first all started and he sent Medical Ships to the major cities.
The contrast is so damn stark it makes me ill to even think in 9 months...they are happy to kill us.

I do not dispute that monoclonals are ideal, but once again many of us do not qualify in our areas. They have loosened restrictions in my area, but the BMI requirement is still too high for me and my husband. But I agree with you we should fight for ALL therapeutics to be available to patients.
I DO dispute your statement that ivm is not effective. You have stated yourself that your treatment experience with ivermectin was with a few family or friends and at a very low dose.
I believe it is time for you to take a closer look at the ivermectin research as well because there are many people for whom it is the only option.
