If I receive a ‘gift’ from a supplier worth mort than $25, I’m required to report it on my income tax form as income. I can go to jail if ZI don’t.

In AOC’s case, she received two gifts: A $10,000 gown which will never be worn again by anyone else, and a $35,000 ticket to a dinner party. It seems to me that she owes at least $15,000 in state and federal income taxes for those.

“I’d be more carefull with the name calling if I were you (glass houses and all). You didn’t get the Buffett quote right, either; it’s “...that he pays a lower % of his income than his secretary.” Is that evidence of retardation, too?”

The “quote” was what people incorrectly state, not an actual quote that is correct.

Spelling “careful” wrong might be a sign of retardation though...

The dress and tickets, as i understand it, were donated. The Rich donner, of course, gets to deduct the charitable expense on his taxes.

Every time someone says “Tax the rich” a billionaire earns his pitchfork.

I've often pointed out the flawed philosophy stated so boldly in that Ten Years After song:
Tax the rich, feed the poor
'Til there are no rich no more
Note well it is all about tearing down, not building up. Why isn't it:
'Til there are no poor no more

Taxing the rich gets you nowhere because they are extremely adept at transferring income(taxable) to wealth(not taxable) and making the former appear to be non existent.

If I have a billion dollars it isn't taxable, only the money I make off of it is, so, I would be pretty careful to make sure I net zero at the end of the year to avoid having any of it confiscated. That is good wealth husbandry.

The folks who get screwed are those of us who don't have the kind of income that can be hidden and transferred to wealth.

A flat tax with no loopholes eliminates the ability to transfer income to wealth prior to taxation and disincentives hiding it.

The real joke is this will never happen because:
The RICH are the blue state dems lol
The left virtue signals, knowing they will never screw their base of financial support.

And my guess is repubs lobby to lower taxes for rich blue staters because they want the tax money that flows back to poor red states. Repubs are certainly not opposed to federal pork welfare.

Politicians: Dang them ol' rich people!
They gots too much money.
I know - let's tax them!!
We'll tell the US workers that the tax load will be off of their backs and we'll get more votes!

CFO: Well boys; looks like the cost of materials and other stuff is going up.  And the pols are after more of OUR money, too!
I guess we'll just have to raise prices so we still take home the same amounts to our wives.

Members of the board: What'll we tell customers when they complain?

CEO: We'll just show them the books.
Show them the ADDED wages we now have to pay out for tax preparers and more accounting personel .
They'll understand.
