Quit Google Chrome For One Of These 3 Privacy-Friendly Alternatives
Forbes ^ | Sep 11, 2021 | Kate O'Flaherty Senior Contributor Cybersecurity

There has long been a movement to ditch Google Chrome, but many people end up going back to the browser, simply because it functions well and many apps are optimised for it. But recent moves by Google—such as the delayed but widely believed to be privacy-infringing FLoC update—are pushing people to say it: Enough is enough, it’s time to quit Chrome.

***

Firefox is the number one alternative if you want to ditch Chrome, and that’s because of its privacy ethos. Firefox is owned by Mozilla, a non-profit, so it doesn’t need to perform tracking to serve you ads. ***

The Brave browser is Chromium based so you get the Chrome-like experience but without the trackers—Brave blocks tracking by default. ***

> Brave with DuckDuckGo. That’s the way to go.

I use the same, so obviously you are very smart.😁

Brave “should” use Chrome extensions.

#9 Get ublock orgin. I can read the article. Google search it for your web browser.
I use Firefox myself that has been modified a bit.
http://davidswebsite.com/Firefox_tabs/firefox_tabs.html
Staying for now at version 89.0 as later ones may not let me change the look to what I want

Try Vivaldi. You can modify easily.
https://vivaldi.com

Plus they now have a email program. In pre Beta and the below link to enable may not work. I was not able to.

How to enable it.

#65 Try the FREE HTLMPad https://www.htmlpad.net
It is what I use when Dreamweaver CS6 became obsolete as it cannot understand Flex and Grid. I had to learn to manually code with HTLMPad.
Once you create a few layout templates then it is easy to rearrange them for different webpage design.
Here is an example: http://davidswebsite.com/test/responsive_layout.html

ok, just switched to Brave. One thing I can’t figure out yet. How do I send a link (like from FR) so it automatically goes to an email, Outlook in this case. Thanks.

Ok, thanks. One of the conveniences of FF, easy to send a link.

If you can't survive without Chrome, SRWare Iron is de-branded Chromium (which is the code base for Chrome) with all the G**gle spyware removed.

Chromium is free and open-source and SRWare is one of a handful of organizations that have availed themselves of Chromium's FOSS status and created their own de-G**gled browser from it.

All of your favorite add-ons for Chrome also will work on Iron.

Edge and Firefox - oh please!!!!!! Excuse me while I hurl.

Brave - Yep, though I use Slimjet. It allows me to download videos where Brave does not.

Comodo Dragon is another Google-free version of Chrome.

Comodo Dragon

I have it, but have not used it much, as I'm used to FireFox. Although I see they now have a Firefox version: Comodo Ice Dragon.

Have you tried “File”/”Share”/”Email Link”? That starts a new email with the link embedded on my MacOS Brave.

Like Brave, have made about $220. on “Brave Ads” with BAT and also “tip” content creators with BAT monthly.
