Harry Reid renews call for filibuster to be abolished: 'We need to get the Senate working again' Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) called for the filibuster to be abolished Wednesday in light of the new restrictive Texas abortion bill, arguing that the country “need[s] to get the Senate working again.”
“The sanctity of the Senate is not the filibuster. The sanctity of the Senate — in government as a whole — is the power it holds to better the lives of and protect the rights of the American people,” Reid wrote in a column published by the Las Vegas Sun on Wednesday.
“It’s time Senate Democrats act with the urgency that this moment demands and abolish the filibuster once and for all,” he added.

Is Reid saying that constitutionally congress can ban states’ rights to pass laws outlawing actions? In your dreams, Harry. Outlaw filibusters all you want. That dog still won’t hunt.
Wow! Those Mormons are all about faith and family, kinda like Biden Catholics.
Hey Harry STFU, this is the way the senate is suppose to work.
because evil rarely dies early.
he’s still full of it though.
Dingy Harry...what does he care about it now?
Because Harry has SUCH a great track record of changing rules in congress, and there being no unintended consequences!
Just so they can abolish democracy and not even have to worry about votes
What Democrats really want is:
Republicans in the majority: filibuster OK.
Democrats in the majority: no filibuster.
I understand, but have not confirmed the count independently, that Schumer used the democrat veto 318 ties against Trump.
Reid used it against Bush II regularly as well.
People need to stop saying the Dems are only liberal, because of the Squad.
Harry is only saying this because the democrats
do not believe they will ever be in the minority again.
He’s just trying to be relevant. I don’t care one iota about what this person thinks about anything!
